A must read
I got this book from another source so I cant be a verified purchaser. With that little disclaimer out of the way---I love this book. I have worked in home care since 2001 and have read all the reliable sources that I could find over the years to make myself a better home health nurse. I wish this book had been available in 2001. If you know nothing about home health read this book. If you think you already know what all there is to know about home health then read this book. This book covers the entire spectrum in a layout that allows you to read from beginning to end and understand home care or pick it up later and jump around and find answers/references. I wish all new home health employees would read this book. I also wish our law makers would read this book so they can get a real and true understanding of the purpose and process of home health before they make new rules and regulations. Overall, reading this book will help you to understand the concept behind home health and how it has evolved and works in today's environment!

Excellent Resource for Nurses new to Home Care, experienced in HHC, and especially HHC mangers
I received this book as a gift, so I am not a verified purchaser. That being said, I love this book. When I first became HHC nurse 20+ years ago, Tina Marrelli's Home Heath Standards, better known as "the little red book", was my constant companion. This latest book offers a timely resource, for nurses entering the specialty and for those working in HHC. I would especially recommend this book to Nursing supervisors and Clinical Managers. The information on "Making the Leap to Home Care: A Checklist of Considerations", should be a managers "go to" guide for interviewing perspective HHC clinicians. I also loved the case study and OASIS, a great teaching tool. And, finally, having the most up to date copy of the Medicare Benefit Policy Manual is a very handy tool, for both field and managing clinicians.

I highly recommend this book for two audiences
I highly recommend this book for two audiences: for clinicians transitioning into home healthcare setting and for seasoned home care clinicians, managers and administrators. For new home health clinicians, you can find no better resource for your home health orientation. Indeed, home health agencies that use this book to drive their orientation program will likely create a home health staff who “get” home healthcare – not only all the rules and regulations, but its heart and soul in a way that inspires excellent home healthcare practice. Seasoned home healthcare providers, frequently deep into the details of their practice, will see how the details fit into a broader perspective, which will simultaneously ground and inspire their practice. Marrelli’s writing style is easy to read and understand, as though she is sitting with you, helping you to focus on the most important points. The book is chock-full of tips and resources. As a Home Health Clinical Nurse Specialist with over 35 years in nursing, I highly recommend this book for new and seasoned home health clinicians.

Great resource!
This book is fantastic for the home care nurse or nurse manager. It covers everything from regulations that impact the home care nurse to the structure and documentation of a home care visit. Although it is packed with information, it is easy to read. Sometimes, as nurses, we are asked to do things without an explanation of why. This book explains the why. It discusses regulations, safety, the home environment, increased patient acuity, and how to be professional and efficient while providing high-quality goal-oriented care. I wish I had this years ago, but I'm glad to have it now!

Excellent reference
This book is a wonderful introduction to home health for the clinician who is transitioning to home health care. Home Health Nursing requires special skills and knowledge which Tina discusses in detail in the book. I especially love the chapter summaries, questions for futher discussion and the research references. I highly recommend every certified home health agency has a copy on their shelves for easy reference.
