Family fun - lots of laughs!
I bought Ransom Notes for family game nights, and it's been a great addition to our collection. My kids absolutely loved creating silly sentences with the word magnets. How It Works: Players use word magnets to answer prompts by creating ransom note-style responses. The limitation of available words forces creative (and often hilarious) solutions. It's simple enough that everyone grasps it immediately. Family Appeal: This worked brilliantly across different ages in our household. The kids enjoyed the silliness and freedom to be creative, while the adults appreciated the clever wordplay and unexpected combinations that emerged. Everyone was laughing, which is really all you want from a family game. Replayability: With different word magnets each round and various prompts, games feel fresh each time we play. We've brought it out multiple times since purchasing, and it hasn't gotten stale yet. Player Count: Works well with 3+ players as advertised. We've played with anywhere from 4 to 7 people, and it's been engaging at all group sizes. The more players, the more variety in responses. Easy to Understand: No complicated rules to learn or teach. Set up is quick, explanations take minutes, and you're playing almost immediately. Perfect for when you just want to jump into something fun without lengthy instructions. Quality: The magnets are decent quality and the board works well. Everything feels sturdy enough to withstand regular family use, including enthusiastic kids handling the pieces. The Laughter Factor: Watching my kids craft absurd sentences within the constraints of the available words was genuinely entertaining. There's something about the limitation that brings out creativity and humor in unexpected ways. Overall: A genuinely fun party game that delivered family entertainment and lots of laughs. If you want something lighthearted that gets everyone involved and giggling, this is an excellent choice. My kids keep asking to play it again, which is the best recommendation I can give.

Fun party game
We had a fun few nights playing this game which was so easy to learn and can create a lot of laughs depending how imaginative you are. The game is of a high quality although it's a little fiddly to begin with to get all the little magnetic words the right way up and in order. The game itself is fairly small so doesn't require that much room but you do need space to lay out your magnetic words. I would say it's suitable for ages 14+ and to make it more fun a larger group would be better but easily played with 3-6 people. It's quite pricey but would last a long time. Not sure you could travel with this so best to use on family occasions such as Christmas or after a dinner party. I've given it 4 stars because I wish the words and magnetic boards were slightly bigger

YES. 100% buy this
absolutely the funniest game i’ve ever played, played best if you have a dark sense of humour - amazing quality cards, easy to play and plenty of card variety. i find it’s more fun to play while having a few drinks, the more nonsense the better! - using this as an excuse to put my funniest answers on here

Love this
LOVE this game. My family are all neurodivergent and we sometimes struggle to find games that work for us all, this does. My kids range from mid teens to mid 20s and they all joined in. The nonsense they came out for their ransom notes was both brilliant and amusing. It was a lovely insight into how imaginative they are. Lots of laughing involved.

Easy to play and endlessly entertaining. We cried with laughter at some of the answers
I bought this for my husband for Christmas and I can’t tell you how much we love it! We’ve played it every day with various family and visitors (including two teenagers who absolutely love it too!). Some of the answers have been hilarious. A couple of the cards are a bit risqué for the teenagers but we just pick another card and carry on. I’d highly recommend this game, it’s glorious. It’s so easy to get the hang of and is endlessly entertaining.

Cracking fun for friends and family
The premise is fantastic. The execution is slightly wonky but we made 2 dead simple modifications and had an absolute whale of a time: 1. Use the "Party Gamer" alternate rules - it is so easy to play compared to the default rules. It avoids weird things like the judge being able to vote for their own entry. It is dead simple to follow the Party Gamer rules, as it is structured almost exactly like Cards Against Humanity. 2. Give players more time. The game suggests 60-90 seconds. We found 2 minutes to be just right to create tension while allowing people to craft some fantastically funny prompts.

Lots of fun but check it suits your group
This is great if you are with a group of ppl that are quite wordy and creative. It’s not for everyone and some people find it a bit pressured I think. But we loved it!

This is an awesome party game. Every game feels fresh because the experience depends so much on the people you’re playing with. There are more than enough cards to keep things exciting and unpredictable every time. Whenever I play it with someone, they end up buying it themselves so 100% recommend!

Unterhaltsames Spiel, wenn Sie Cards Against Humanity oder Ähnliches mögen. Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass dieses Spiel meiner Meinung nach viel langsamer und weniger lustig ist.

I picked up Ransom Notes for game nights with friends. We were looking for something quick, easy to play, and guaranteed to get laughs when people are tired of the same old card games. We played with 5 of us on a Friday night: players pull random magnets, draw a prompt (like “Tell someone you've clogged their toilet at a party”), and scramble to build the funniest sentence. It took under a minute for everyone to get the hang of it. Pros Instantly funny, even with people who don’t consider themselves “game-night kind of people.” Incredibly easy to learn; there are no complicated rules or long instructions. Endless replayability thanks to 840 magnets + 250 prompts. Great for group settings or parties; works well even with larger groups if you team up. Compact packaging: very easy to store or throw in a bag for travel. Cons / what to know Humor leans toward absurd and sometimes crass. If you’re playing with kids or more conservative folks, you might want to pre-screen / skip certain prompts. Some magnets feel a little small if you prefer larger print / words. This could be tricky under dim lighting or for folks with large hands. For a tight group of 2–3 people, the game is less fun; best with 4–6+ players. Especially good for game nights, holiday get-togethers, or just killing time with friends. Definitely recommend!

Bought this on a whim for a family Christmas Eve game. I was the only one super excited to play but by the second card, everyone was having a blast. Across varied ages (30-65) and desire for word play. Everyone at the table laughed hard, unlocked creativity, and didn’t want to stop playing when the game was over. This game makes me want to have small parties at home again.
