Is it heavy enough for pie doughs and other doughs?

It's heavy enough for almost anything you need to roll out.

Why can't they put the label that's on the barrel of the rolling pin on the handle?

I had the same problem and sent it back for an exchange. On the new one I carefully heated the label just a bit with a heat gun(hair dryer should work too). I then slowly pealed the label off in a cross grain direction of the wood and got no splinters. After that I used some soap and water to wash off the glue residue while washing the whole rolling pin. Now all I need to do is put on the oil finish.

This is American brand and the most items of this brand are made in China

Does it stick to fondant?

Anything can stick to fondant just prep it with some powdered sugar.
