Sun Dolphin Journey 10-Foot Sit-on-top Fishing Kayak

Great kayak for the money. We purchased two. Tracking wasn’t the best but we improved it by installing small skegs. They feel tippy at first but are actually really stable when you get used to them. We upload a video review on YouTube titled “ sundolphin journey 10SS review by first time kayakers” channel is creating a simpler life. We have used them several times this season and are very happy.

Awsome kayak! Great value for the $$$. I love going out to cruise and fish. Can't beat this boat. The 3 rod holders are in the perfect spot. Adjustable foot pegs really help. Highly recommend this kayak. Much more features for the money than the others.

To the ones complaining about the scupper holes taking in water: You don't need to be so quick just to badmouth a product without actually calling the manufacturer to inquire and give them a chance. I know many Americans.are used to buying inferior product from "overseas" by forced labor or children and there is no recourse. One of the reasons I bought this kayak is because it is made in USA, employing AMERICAN workers. One simple phone call I talked to a very nice customer service person in Michigan and she promptly mailed me 4 scupper plugs that fit like a glove, problem solved. For the money this product is superb. I didn't buy my Ford pickup expecting it to behave like a corvette and then complain about the fact. I knew in my budget I wasn't getting a 3K kayak. That said I feel I got more kayak for the money I paid! I easily upgraded the seat with a NoLimits seat from Academy sports using the same two screwholes, see that website for a picture and description how to install. Now I have a padded seat top and bottom that sits like a high dollar kayak- for 29 bucks! So I have about 300 dollars invested total for a nice kayak that gets me on the water and I can catch fish I cannot complain with that! BUY AMERICAN when you can- it matters!

Took it out on it's maiden voyage and I was really disappointed. When I got done with the trip, my father and I went to take it out of the water and we could barely lift it, I unloaded it to make sure we didn't have too much gear, tried again to no avail. Then I opened up the rear drain plug and water shot out like a fountain......I tipped the kayak on end and let water pour out of the drain hole for 20-30 seconds......Not sure exactly how much water, i am guessing 4-5 gallons on a 3 hour trip down a river. I am not sure where all of the water came from as everything seemed to be pretty well sealed up. I haven't done a really intense inspection to see if there is a crack or a seam that isn't fully welded but it is concerning. I will be contacting Sun Dolphin customer service and seeing what to do next. I have had it for 2 months now so it looks like my Amazon return window is over. I will update with any info. I glean from the manufacturer.

It really is lightweight as described. A hell of a deal for the price!

Pleasure fishing other than scuffed stickers this is a wonderful time on the water.
