Veratex Supreme Sateen Collection 500 Thread Count 100% Egyptian Cotton Sateen Solid Designed 4 Piece Bedroom Sheet Set, Queen Size, White

I had purchased a set of veratex solid merlot 500tc Egyptian cotton sheets at jc penny's a few years ago. They are easily the nicest, softest sheets I've owned. Granted, it took a couple weeks of use and a few washings to fully soften them up. A year or so ago I purchased the matching comforter and it too was excellent. I bought a set of these gray sheets in august 2017 and they started out very abrasive, more so than iether my original sheets or the comforter. I have washed and slept in them numerous times but they only seam to get more rough and abrasive, not less.I didn't think much of this at first but one side of the sheets was shiny and smoother while the reverse side was rough and more course. My merlot set always had the same mat finish on both sides. I also noticed that the tags were different. The new tag was made of a single strip of plastic material with silkscreen writing. My original tags are made of a looped fabric. Considering this and that the quality seems so different, i question if these new sheets are genuine. To late to return them now so they may be getting donated. I'm giving one extra star because my original sheets are wonderful.

I have this same brand of sheets that I purchased over 10 years ago from Costco and have rotated with many other brands since then. The Veratex is by far the best sheets I have used so far. I have only used the sateen 500tc so far and I have just ordered the 300tc to use this summer. I hope the 300tc is as nice as these. I have tried at least 7 other brands of sheets, including the supposedly 1000tc that is usually cheaply made. I have been to Macy's, Kohls and several other places looking to replace the old set of Veratex that have started to wear along the folded edges-after many washes, believe me, nothing has come close to these sheets!! I will update this review if the new sheets don't hold up like the last set. Instead of trying other brands I will stick with this brand unless quality declines. If I could afford it I would purchase several more sets right now.

I spent this inordinate amount of money in the name of patriotism. But it came at a very high price and tremendous disappointment. The quality of the sateen is very poor. It has only 500 threads and, at Costco, I could have bought one with 700 for $70+ but, it was Chinese. I am not buying more Chinese products, but I will have to move to the forest in the Blue Mountains and become a hermit with what I have. The sheets are rough. The bottom is from a different color.

I really like these sheets. They are so smooth and soft, and cool to the touch. The only reason I hesitate to give a 5th star, is after the first couple washes they aren't quite as smooth as they were when new. However, I also have a clunker of a washing machine, so I don't want to fault the sheets too much.Still, I would definitely get another set of these. It's great to be able to support US manufacturing and get a high quality product.

I love the feel of the Sateen sheets. It makes moving around in the bed so much easier because your body just slides. The pure white has held up nicely in the laundry so far. I bought this x-long twin for my split king adjustable bed. I don't know if they make a Split King adjustable bed set so I ordered another and plan to sew together the top sheet. There is so much more length and width I could almost use the one I bought for the one bed as a top sheet. Note that Amazon is out of stock but I will order anyway and wait!After I posted this review and went to order another set I was amazed by a JUMP in the price since I bought the first set! I'll have to reconsider my plan!I'm waiting for a "sale."

These sheets were horrible and they are not all 100% cotton as advertised. I bought two sets of these sheets, one for a full size bed, and a few months later a set for my California king size bed. The full size sheets are 100% cotton (at least that's what the tag says) and the color was fine (the taupe color). HOWEVER the California king sheets I purchased had the part of the tag that lists what they are made of, cut off. It just listed the washing instructions and where they were made. I only noticed this because the two sheet sets did not wear the same and the King sized sheets pilled horribly DURING THE FIRST USE. Imagine trying to sleep in a bed filled with polyester crumbs. Anyway, when i took the sheets off to change them i looked at the tag to see what they were actually made of and noticed they didn't say. Then I checked the other set of sheets, that didn't pill at all, and the tag was clearly longer and said "100% Cotton". Buyer beware. Unfortunately i waited a while to even use the sheets so i didn't think returning them was an option, so i just gave them to the goodwill.

I have purchased at least 3 other sets of queen sheets, the 100% cotton sateen ones, in the past: 2 times initially from Ross Stores and then the others from Veratex directly and have not bought any others due to the wonderful quality of them. This time, I was so disgusted with the quality and the price for the disgusting quality, that I contacted Veratex directly. I found out that the business had been sold earlier to a company, and that now the company was closing their doors and had sold Veratex again to a South Carolina firm. I know now that the quality I received was from the initial Veratex company, not the other 2 owners. I was told that the materials are imported from a variety of companies including china and india. I will not purchase any Veratex in the future due to the fact that the quality is so ridiculously imperfect and definitely not worth the extravagant prices charged. Very sad, because I had never found another quality as good as the initial sets purchased.
