Easy to use, nice finish.
Easy to use and simple application with a foam brush. Follow the instructions to the letter for good results. Penetration was good and it dried to a nice satin finish. I used it to restore two outdoor garden benches with good results...j

A+ for initial looks, A+ for ease, B- for longevity
MAY 2020 UPDATE BELOWJune 2019: Very happy with the initial appearance. As of right now, I’d give this product five stars. I can’t yet comment on the ability of this product to withstand the elements. This is definitely the biggest remaining question mark. I will check back in the future with comments on how well this product holds up over time. Background: I was looking for something easy to finish a picnic table and benches. I bought plastic molded legs sold by 2x4 Basics through Amazon. I used framing lumber (not pressure treated lumber) because it’s cheaper and lighter in weight, but this leaves the lumber unprotected from the elements. The goal is to have a low maintenance picnic table that I can leave uncovered all summer and will look good for years.Pros: Goes on easy. Looks great. To see the color of this product, you can see in one of my pictures the table after its first coat compared to an un-coated bench. As noted by another reviewer, it did come out of the can brown and cloudy. Not sure if it was supposed to look like that or not, but I do like tint picked up by the wood. Gorgeous color. Finish is not shiny (the shine you see in two of my pictures is because the finish was still wet).Cons: noxious. Definitely apply in open air.My procedure: This stuff smells nasty and has a Prop 65 warning, so I decided to wear gloves. Cheap nitrile gloves seemed to work just fine to keep this stuff out. The instructions call for a heavy first application to be flooded on and allowed to sit for 30 minutes. I wasn’t sure how to make that happen without spilling all over my garage floor. I ended up dribbling puddles over each board and using an old undershirt to dab it around. I was as generous as I could be in my application without producing drips between the boards. Returned after roughly 30 minutes for the second coat, which was less generous than the first. Quite a bit of the first cost had soaked in during the 30 minute interlude. A wait of 15 minutes is suggested after the second coat, after which almost all of the finish had been absorbed. As per the instructions, I wiped the boards with a dry rag. 8 hours later, the smell was still strong enough that I decided not to sit at the table for another day at least. I used probably 2/3 of a quart for the two coats.May 2020: lowering the review to 4 stars. The table was kept outside for one summer and then outside under a tarp during the colder months. We live in a northern state, so winter is long and snowy. I’ve attached two additional photos to document the condition of the wood after about one year. My conclusion is this product does help protect the wood, but it will not keep it looking like new. This is especially true for surfaces where water can pool. I probably should have kept my expectations more realistic, but honestly I am a little disappointed since it looked so good initially. I’ve decided to power wash, sand, and refinish. This is the point where my wife would like to point out that the goal (as stated above) was to have a low maintenance picnic table, and here I am refinishing not even 12 months later.

Great product - Great distributor
I’ve used other Watco brand products (from Rustoleum) and have been pleased with ease of applying the product. I used the Outdoor product on a red cedar workbench I built for our outdoor porch with very positive results. The product seems to be difficult to find at other retailers including Ace and Home Depot, but Max Warehouse had the product and shipped it the same day I placed the order. The product can did arrive damaged (not leaking thankfully), but Max Warehouse was very responsive and took care of the problem for me without any hassle. We all know problems arise but it’s how well the the sales partner handles the issue that matters in the end. I definitely recommend Max Warehouse and the Outdoor Finish product from Watco.Note: Watco Outdoor Finish is made with Linseed Oil and cautionary measures to prevent spontaneous combustion fires need to be taken.

Easy to apply and maintain. Just follow directions below.
Stripped oxidized and yellowing finish off of our front door that gets a lot of sun. Sanded to 220 grit to get an even surface. Stained with an oil based stain. After stain cured, I wiped down with a rag that was damp with mineral spirits so no stain was sitting on the surface of the wood. I then and applied multiple coats following the directions on the can until no more finish would be absorbed by the wood. Door now has a satin hand rubbed look that can be maintained with a yearly coat of finish rather than having to strip old finish off every 3 years and refinish the exterior side of the door.

Easy to apply
Product seems to have worked well. Used it on my 30 year old cedar garage door. It will probably need another coat as it has really sucked in in spots. But looks good.
