Wow! The language is fun! The voice is fun! The story is fun! This is a story I could read again and again and find something more charming with each read. This would make a great gift for a classroom or school library, as well as for parents trying to entertain their kids at bedtime and teach them something on the sly. :)) Lucky are the kids who have the author as a 2nd grade teacher! I imagine she must bring the same kind of fun to her classroom.

This is a really cute book that also teaches beginning readers in a fun (and funny) way. It also has a nice message. Kids love it and it has become a favorite before bedtime read.

A wonderfully written story that hooked my five year old grandson. The story is a great introduction to silent e, vowel substitution and compound words. As a former educator, I was delighted!

I used this as a read-aloud with Grade 3. They loved it, there are a lot of lessons embedded in the book, and it is impossible to read it without a cowgirl accent. So fun and useful!
