A whistle is required for kayaking, this whistle is adequate for that requirement.

Securely tied to the inside of our ski jackets!
Last year we went skiing in Canada and found an awesome patch of trees that we and our kids could ski through. We did it over an over the few days we were there. It had fun little bumps and turns that we all found joy in. Except for when our son took a wrong turn and fell in a patch of powder and couldn't get out and we couldn't find him. My husband yelled his name in panic for a good 15-20 minutes and no response. He finally found him and our son was fine and had been yelling back, but was not heard. This scary moment made me buy safety whistles for our whole family and I was happy to find a pack for 4 for our family of 4. I easily secured them in each of our jackets where they will stay. They work great, light weight and easy to secure by looping them around themselves onto a zipper strap in our jackets. Highly recommend!!

Sturdy, loud, very good quality
Very good built. Perhaps will least for tens of years. Loud and simple to use.

Too smal for anyone's head.
Whistles seem fine, but saying its with a lanyard is deceiving. It says in the description it's not actually a usable lanyard, which is true. You can't fit it over anyone's head. We're keeping the whistles to use for safety, but have bought lanyards to use with them. We haven't tried to put them on the new lanyards yet. Hope we are able to put them on or we will have to return them.

Great emergency whistle!
Very loud, but you have to be somewhat forceful when blowing to get it to the piercing noise level. We sent a couple of these to a family member in a hurricane area to have on hand for emergency preparedness. Would buy again.
