Have two... need more...
I am a bit of a contradiction - I love cooking, I cook very well, and I own darn near every gadget & small appliance you can imagine to facilitate my cooking.By the same token, until very recently, I had absolutely ZERO idea how to keep bunches of fresh herbs from going bad before I could use them up. It got so I was buying a bunch of cilantro, parsley and assorted other herbs nearly weekly, and tossing them within a couple of days because they'd turn slimy and awful. Then by some stroke of luck, I found these here on Amazon. I thought, "well, given how much money I'm wasting every week, it really can't hurt to at least give these a shot... what have I got to lose at this point?"Wow, what a difference a few dollars makes!I can keep my herbs fresh for 2+ weeks in these, and this is despite the fact that I can guarantee I never get my bunches in them perfectly. It doesn't really seem to matter if my stems are sort of haphazardly sticking in all sorts of directions... as long as most of them make it through the holes into the water, the bunch stays fresh and the herbs keep long enough for me to actually use them up.A few tips for usage:1) Make sure your water level is below the holes in the base.2) I don't recommend snipping leaves off the bunch... that seems to lead to quicker spoilage of the rest of the bunch. Gently tugging out the stems you need seems to work much better towards keeping the bunch fresh.3) Getting a large bunch inside the clear top can be challenging... the easiest way I've found to do this is to invert the clear top between my knees (while sitting) and wrap my hands firmly around the top of the bunch which is turned so the stems are facing up. This makes it much simpler to then slide the bunch down into the clear top - even a very full/thick bunch - while leaving the stems exposed so they can reach the water in the base.4) I seem to have the longest lasting herbs when I put these in the far back left corner of my fridge... my sister-in-law finds hers keep best on the top shelf of her fridge... so you'll want to experiment with the best placement in your own fridge.5) DO change the water every few days!If you've struggled with keeping your herbs long enough to actually use what you bought, I strongly recommend giving these a chance. They're really much handier than I actually expected them to be... and they're going to make fantastic Christmas presents for family & friends.

Works great, bought another.
Ok, it's been awhile since we ordered these, but now that we've had them for some time now just wanted to say that they are FANTASTIC.We have one for parsley and then bought another one one for cilantro. These keep our herbs fresh **Far Beyond** when they'd normally expire, even better than the glass of water I used to use, haha. Especially the Italian Parsley we use so much of. I think the trick is the lid.Couple hints:Don't forget to change the water periodically.Pull off any dead stalks or leaves periodically. When you replace the lid, it's easier if you sort of twist the lid a little while you are replacing it, helps keep the herbs from getting crushed in the threads.Get one. You'll be very happy you did.

Very useful kitchen toy
I very much like this, which replaces mugs full of water and unruly herbs falling over in the refrigerator. This fits nicely out of the way on the door, and really does keep herbs fresh much longer, although you need to be careful not to crowd it too much with tender herbs that rot fast, like cilantro. Every few days I open it to blot the herbs and wipe out excess moisture, but it still saves me tons of money in wastage.

Good sized herb saver
I have now purchased two of these herb savers. I am keeping one and giving the other to my daughter. Earlier I purchased Prepara Herb Savor Pod 2.0, Set of 3 and liked them but the container was too small for a good sized bunch of parsley. I purchased the Hutzler saver specifically for my parsley. This is a great herb saver. It is not too tall to fit easily in the fridge. It does help to keep parsley fresh and is easy to use. I recommend this item.

Clumsy and inconvenient
A bunch of cilantro is a too big to fit through the ring that helps support the herbs and the stems tend to get slimy sitting in the water at the bottom. Cool idea, but it just doesn't execute that well.Note how the expensive herbs are stored in that small plastic box: free of excess, slime-causing liquid water droplets. If you buy them in the box, you will of course continue to use the box to store remaining herbs. For better value, buy bulk herbs and store like this: take the tie off a bunch of herbs. Ensure that the herbs are fairly free of liquid water (shake and pat dry with paper towel, if needed). Pick out any herbs that are starting to slime. Wrap the good herbs loosely in a paper towel and store in the plastic bag you took them home in. DON'T wrap too tightly and DON'T let other items in the refrigerator sit on and press down on the package. When you use some herbs (or every 4 to 6 days), pick out any slimers and rewrap the remainder in a fresh paper towel before returning to the refrigerator.Fresh herbs will easily keep a week or two this way. I do this all the time, I can't remember the last time I used the Herb Saver.

Works perfectly
The only way I can buy cilantro in grocery stores in my area is in huge bunches. I'm the only one in the house who likes cilantro, so I always ended up throwing a lot of it away after a few days. I know, it's cheap; I just hate to waste stuff. So far, this last bunch of cilantro has lasted more than a week and still looks great! I'd say this was a great purchase and the price was the lowest I found on herb savers.

too short and too wide
It's just a little awkward for herbs. It's a little short so I have to trim the bottoms of scallions, etc. and it's wider than necessary so it takes up too much room in my refrigerator. However, it does keep my herbs & scallions a few days longer than if I just stored them in paper towel/zip loc bags in my fridge, so it's useful. Just have to be careful not to knock it over or shake it in the fridge or the water can drip out.

Great item. Keeps herbs fresh for a long time
I’ve used this for bunches of herbs, arugula and watercress. Fits perfectly in the door of the fridge. But put a paper towel underneath, because water does spill out if too full. When I order herbs with my farm basket, they come in a teeny square of earth. So I remove the inner holder and just put the plant straight into the bottom cup. Absolutely perfect for Cilantro, it’ll stay fresh for weeks (just change the water once in awhile!). Seems to be dishwasher safe. A great purchase!

Good value.
Works well, but it's too small for more than one bunch of herbs/green onions. Also, it's a bit short. Good value.

Item as described.
Item as described. Much larger than I thought. It is approximately 2 pop cans high and slightly larger in diameter than a pop can. Easy to use and keeps my herbs fresh.

Works almost perfect
I do wish that it had some venting holes on top, my advice is to use just as much water as you need, and no more.
