It catches fish when other lures don't
As you can see from the picture, this lure catches big bass. My son and I started fishing this lure pretty heavily a year or two ago, it doesn't always draw the fish in but when it does, it's usually an epic day of fishing. If you want to see how we fish it, check out our YouTube channel, just search for "Colorado fishing and outdoors" on Youtube.Tips:- I've had the most luck with the perch color or loon (black with white dots) for Largemouth bass.- Try different retrieves. Sometimes the Bass like it to be cast out, sit for about 5 seconds then start reeling steady all the way back, sometimes they like it to be started and stopped multiple times, just depends on their mood.Pros- Seems to draw in large bass more often than not- Is extremely easy to fish for beginners or people wanting to just cover lots of water quickly- There are many different sizes that seem to work on different days. Try all of them, I've found some days the 90 or 110 won't work, but the 60 will, or vice versa. They all make different sounds/different pitch and are different sizes so it's nice to have some variation and the Bass seem to care, some days they are just keyed in on one size or sound.Cons- Doesn't come through cover very well unless you are very careful, will get hung up on grass/logs/anything the sharp trebles can grab.

The go to brand for whopper ploppers
I’ve purchased many of these from this brand, they always hit hard at the lake. Bass love them!

There’s a technique to reeling it in. Please read:
These things work and top water fishing is sooo fun! I’ve had the best luck with Smallmouth in rivers. Haven’t targeted largemouth much yet, but I will soon. The trick to using this lure is to keep your rod tip up high after a long cast because you want all your line out of the water to get the best “plopping” sound. Then as you reel your line in, bring your rod tip down. Basically you want to reel it in with the most noise and without having to reel too fast. You’ll get the hang of it after just a few casts.I’ve had smallmouth hit this as soon as it hits the water. Like throwing a frog for largemouth.I purchased the bluegill, shad, and loon. All catch fish, however I’m partial to the bluegill at the moment.Hooks are super sharp too!!!Only negative is there isn’t a way to make it weedless. If you get any weeds on it, it doesn’t work properly.

Came in good condition
The product seems like it is built well, I have seen many people catch many fish with this lure online. For some reason the delivery person used a fake photo to confirm it. I have no idea why they would do this, since I still got the product.

It must be the Whopper Plopper
First of all, replicas and knock offs can’t compare. Every other one I use has me going back to the real thing. I rate this 4 and not 5 stars because the 90 size doesnt always like to spin in the first 1 or 2 feet of the retrieve for some reason (make or break with casts on top of a fish’s head) so for now on I will be going with a 75. But when I hear people say this is the most reliable lure, I can’t help but agree, because when fish want topwater this thing catches them! Have had several pike on mine (what I fish for) and my dad has caught several bass on his!

Caught my PB with this lure!
I caught my PB walleye and PB small mouth bass with this lure this week. According to my experience, you either catch nothing, or catch big fish only.

Awesome lure
Great action, had it for a day...over casted and got it hung up on a high branch of a tree 😭 definitely will buy again though.

Good color in clear water.
Great action on top. Makes a lot of noise. Gets strikes! Reccommend using a swivel as lure produces line twist leading to backlashes. Rear treble hangs on prop occasionally.

Great but I should have got the 110
Whopper Plopper's are all they are cracked up to be. I pulled in 4 little smallies on my first trip out with it. I only wish I got the 110 instead. Fish I'd any size will hit the 90, BIGGER fish will hit the 110. The 90 is a bit too light and requires a little finessing to get the action just right. I think the paddle on the 110 is a bit bigger and quicker to slap the water. One warning, these hooks are absolutely insanely sharp, like nothing I've ever used before. I had to make a trip to the hospital to have one removed. The scary part is, I didn't even feel it go in.

Productif

The bass went for it on 3rd cast!
Now that this lure has been "christened" with it's first catch I can write a review. The bass just smashed it on the 3rd cast. The noise and water movement on the surface really get attention and the included hooks are razor sharp. If I ever lose this lure (God forbid) I will buy another straight away!

Top water bites!
Great product. Heard much hype surrounding it. It definitely makes a nice splashing and gurgling as advertised. Had a few exciting top water bites. The weight of this “90” size is easy to cast a good distance. With the cast and retrieve of method of working this bait you can cover a lot of water quickly.Unfortunately I lost mine due to a bad cast which caused a backlash from my baitcaster and snapped the line. I watched sadly as my whopper proper floated away. I’ll be ordering another one again!

Bass love it!
Caught my PB LMB with a whopper plopper, and they're my new go-to topwater lure (when there aren't too many weeds that is). The trebles on it do get covered in grass when the weeds are thick, but it's still the best. I started with 1, and now own 5! Looking forward to getting more colours.
