Better than nothing, but pictures are grainy and explanations not super-helpful
I have these manuals for several cars I have owned, and while the information in them is very useful the books themselves are pretty poorly produced which makes it frustrating to use them.Several specific complaints:1) The pictures are in black-and-white, printed on newsprint-style paper so the pictures are very grainy and it's hard to actually see any of the details. It would be much more useful if the pictures were in color, or if they were bigger, or printed on better paper, or maybe if there was also some line-drawings showing e.g. an exploded view of the part or assembly.2) It's sometimes hard to understand what picture goes with which explanation. They have text at the beginning of each section/procedure, something like "refer to illustrations <number>, <number>, <numbers>" -- which is great -- but then when you get to a detailed step which refers to one of the illustrations it'll just say "refer to illustration", without a number. WHICH ILLUSTRATION???? It's usually possible to piece this together and figure out which one they meant but would it be so hard to just say "refer to illustration <number>"? That would make it so much more usable!3) The pictures are almost all taken as extreme close-ups which is great for detail, but it's often very hard to tell where you are -- are you in the engine compartment? Where in the engine compartment (front, back, left, right)? Is this picture looking up from underneath the car or down from the top?4) It looks like there may have been an earlier version of this manual which included many more pictures -- if so, I'd like to get my hands on it! I say this because I found several instances of strange numbering (gaps in the numbers, implying that there used to be a picture with that number but now it's been removed). For comparison, see the Bentley books for Volkswagens -- I'm really sorry they don't make books for Japanese cars. These are considerably more expensive but it's worth it because they are so much better-produced making them so much more useful. So -- overall, yes this book is pretty cheap, and the information is indeed valuable and useful. It's just pretty frustrating dealing with the production-value problems that hold it back from being as useful as it could be. I would be willing to pay more for a better-produced book if there was such a thing.

Excellent car book
If you are looking for a complete guide to show you how to take your car apart and fix it yourself. Or if you are simply interesting in making sure everything works great, then this book is for you!I have used one of these books before. It was a gift from my uncle, he's the best diesel mechanic ever, and so you know it has to be good!In this economy, DIY stuff is way better than high labor!

Not Much of a Repair Manual
I purchased this service repair manual for my 2004 Nissan - Sentra 1.8 S Car. This repair manual is pretty dam worthless being it is not targeted toward a single vehicle to focus on like it should be. Amazon Prime 2-Day shipping took 5-days to get this awful manual to me & this purchase was a total waste of my time & money. I am not happy one single bit with Amazon & this worthless repair manual. I want a full refund of my money.

It's about as good as any repair manual out there
It's about as good as any repair manual out there. The only thing better would be a factory repair manual but that would probably cost about $120.00 from Helm corp.

These books are always a great buy for do-it-yourself car repair
These books are always a great buy for do-it-yourself car repair. The pictures aren't always 100% useful, but the step-by-step instructions go a long way to helping figure out how to get simple (or complex) repairs done in the home garage.
