Fantastique !!!
France Dubin’s books are a perfect way to learn French or to brush up on the French you learned years ago…. This three book series is a wonderful starter— it progresses in difficulty throughout the series at the perfect pace and the story arc is so engaging and so much fun you can’t wait to continue on to the next page, the next chapter, the next book! I have all this series as well as all of her other books —they are my reward to curl up with after a hard days work— Fantastique—can’t wait for more!

A fun and engaging conclusion to a series every adult French learner should read.
My French flag is complete! I now have all three of France's amusing, touching, and educational books about Helen and her quest to learn some French and go to Paris. The Blue, White, and Red covers make a French Flag when standing in the bookcase. If you've read books one and two, you don't need me to tell you that France Dubin has filled a common need of adult French learners -- an accessible and adult-level set of books that are easy enough to read for a beginner, but entertaining and engaging for an adult. In book three Helen finally gets to Paris and has some interesting experiences and opportunities to use her new French learning. I highly recommend all three books in this series.

Interesting, satisfying way to begin putting your elementary French to use.
This series of books is wonderful – particularly this last one, volume 3, because it introduces you to public transportation and some interesting spots in Paris, some where every tourist goes, some a bit more obscure. When I first started studying French, in my 40s, I eventually got to a point where I wanted to read something interesting in French, so I bought Paris Match and some books written in French. All beyond me. I eventually settled on French translations of books I had already read in English. That sort of worked, but why bother? These books give nice little continuing stories, written in simple French, with translations available in the latter half of the books (a bonus in the Kindle versions is that you can switch between French and English versions with single clicks). I’m impressed!

Great book for A2 level
This is the third in the 'Merde' series. Level is higher than the first two, but very readable for a beginner (Duo for about a year). Dubin does a nice job of mixing difficulty: easy sentence structure, repetition, and vocab, but enough past/future/IO,DO to keep it interesting. It is obviously written for a beginner-no complex sentence structure, no simple past, straight forward vocab. But still, you feel good after reading an entire book in French. The English translation section is very helpful. Highly recommended. I would buy this third book first (I have all three); if you can read this one, the first two may be too basic.
