This device seems to get a lot of mixed reviews, so please allow me to have a go. Firstly I own a Samsung TV - this would seem to be an advantage for this device as you can take advantage of Samsungs settings to use the TV speakers along with the sound bar. Secondly I purchased this for a very sensible price of not much over £100 and so this has to be factored in. Thirdly I am prepared to use an HDMI cable to take advantage of eARC hdmi connection. This seems to be the main issue with a lot of peoples troubles. Using Bluetooth or even optical was never something I wanted as this often causes delays, drop outs or not being able to use the TV remote control to operate the soundbar. My advice is use an hdmi cable. Fourthly I am prepared to adjust the settings on TV and also read instruction manuals etc. Like most entertainment audio there is often some set up to perform, this is not a waterproof Bluetooth speaker, it is designed to be configured. Ok so thats out of the way - it took me about 15mins to unpack and properly set up. Adjust delay on TV sound to sort any lip sync issues, sort through other TV settings and then adjust the speaker balance between this sound bar and the TV speakers volume. If you do this you will end up with some excellent sound, far better than just the TV speakers and some ok for what I paid for it effects / sound projection. No this is not going to better £500 quid all in one sound bars and probably isn’t worth more than what I paid but dialogue is clear, punchy, and by using the TV speakers you do get some decent effects. I have a high end but small ish TV at 43” (cost around £800). Yes bass isn’t massive - it wouldn’t be it’s got small speakers - I may get the Samsung bass box that can be added but I am happy with the sound in the room I am using this. After having Sonos in another room and previously Cambridge audio I can say for the money this is an excellent bit of kit but you have to SET IT UP CORRECTLY, Don’t assume it’s plug and play. Very misunderstood bit of kit and glad I purchased.

ive messed about with different sounders, but saw this on Amazon for less then I could get anywhere else. easy to set up and power up, in fact less than a minute, sound quality is superb, volume can really cranked up and give a great surround sound experience, it looks great and sits neatly on the TV stand, easy to understand instructions and the remote control is very pleasing in the hand and volume control is instant . very please with purchase, comes with a remote control and we attached ours to Samsung tv with an optical cable for max enjoyment

Bought to compliment a new Samsung TV having found my older Samsung soundbar wasn’t fully compatible. Disappointed that I had to download the user manual and to be honest I fiddled about with various options for days until I finally got it working to my liking. I also found it impossible to get streamed tv (via virgin TiVo) fully sound synced with either blue tooth or optic cable but by connecting with a hdmi cable the issue is sorted perfectly. I eventually found that unless the “voice enhancement mode” is turned on, the voice output for films is very quiet with the music and background sound effects overwhelming. I’ve now got voice enhancement mode permanently switched on and am very satisfied with the sound quality and the ability to have “sound symphony” linking the tv and soundbar speakers. Very neat and looks great sat in the tv unit directly under the tv and as all the sound output is from the front facing speakers no quality is lost by housing it on a shelf in the tv unit. Very happy with it after a few frustrating days getting it setup to my liking.

Giving it a 5 star, not because it’s the perfect speaker, because it does perfectly, what it says it is capable of doing. If you’re looking for a deep bass, full on cinematic sound experience, this ain’t it. Subwoofer is in-built, so its bass capabilities are limited. Not bad mind you, just limited. It is however a considerable upgrade from your TV speakers, which are almost always guaranteed to be terrible anyway. It’s a 9/10 speaker considering the price. Looks slick especially if you have a Samsung TV, slides under it perfectly. Q-Harmony enabled for smart Samsung TVs as well, which means in total you’ll have 5 speakers (3 in the sound bar, 2 behind your TV) Again though, do not try to bite into the sound bar. Learnt that the hard way

About 6 months ago my Samsung TV went pop and I decided to buy a new one. The replacement TV did not have the optical cable but I eventually found a way of connecting the TV to the Samsung soundbar and a Manhattan Freeview box. The "only" problem was some of the live and recorded TV had delay on the sound. The Apps from the TV (Apple Paramount etc) had no such problems but intermittent faults drive me nuts and with both a new TV and a new Freeview box it wasn't possible to work out why this lip sync was suddenly an issue. So I bought a this new Samsung soundbar to replace the old Samsung soundbar to work with the new Samsung TV. The connections are simple. The Manhattan is connected to the TV and the TV is connected to the soundbar, the ports on this soundbar accept HDMI cables as does the TV and Manhattan. This replaces USB and optical cables on the old set up. So as others have said in reviews HDMI cables fix lip sync issues. Also the one remote turns on / off the TV and soundbar. Job Done. Sound is very good, much better than just the TV and this soundbar has a display to show volume both on the soundbar and on screen and the soundbar shouts the various "modes" that are available should you wish to fiddle with the settings. Very pleased Lip Sync is fixed.
