easy and delicious
I have medical issues that mean I often end up sipping my meals and as such have tried nearly every soup on the market shelf and then some. Canned, pouch, refrigerated, even fresh from the deli and I've tried it. I keep coming back to these mixes and in particular this potato cheese because it needs literally nothing but water and ten minutes. Add soup mix to water and bring to hard simmer or light boil and let it simmer for ten or so minutes to cook the dehydrated potato pieces and make sure to scrape the bottom so they don't burn and stick. That's it. I use 3 quarts of water and usually add a stock cube or two to the pot but it's great without it. Great to top with green onion and sour cream, crumbled bacon bits are great too. Fry up some bacon and a bit of onion in the bacon fat before adding the water and then the soup mix for it to be extra lush. Cream or milk to finish and it's better than a restaurant with fifteen minutes and one pot of effort. For $4 it simply cannot be beat. I use the 3 quarts and once it boils Down to about two and a half I know I'm done. One of the few items I have on subscription delivery. Also, I live in Florida so to consume 3 bags every 6 weeks as a single person living alone.. it's good soup.So I've come back after buying 6 more bags to update for a single person serving in the microwave! Add 1/3 cup dry mix and 1 and 1/4 cup water (hot if you can) to the mix and stir. Microwave on 50% power for 10 minutes or in 2 minute intervals and stir if you can't adjust power (so it doesn't boil over) let it sit to cool and thicken and all done. I've also done this with a hot tea kettle just add boiling water to the mug with the soup mix and stir. By the time it's cool the dehydrated bits are soft and everything is lush and thick. I know they sell singles but I just dump the bag into a reusable container and scoop what I like since I'm alone and it's more cost effective.Try adding a bullion cube, a little chicken powder, green onion or chive, a little ham or chicken or even a little bit of sour cream and bacon. Super SUPER good.

Pretty Darn Good
I'm impressed with this one. It comes mild but it's easy enough to spice it up the way you like it. As is even one of my 4 year old boys likes it. Some andouille sausage would go great in this. It's a great base to making gumbo the way you like it.Yeah, anyone who has complaints about this doesn't know Gumbo.Yum!

Best soup mix hands down!
I love chilli. I mean who doesn't? And with this kit anyone can easily make a pot. With or without meat. One important detail to remember though. If you plan to prepare this for a crock pot meal, first cook in a pot and then transfer to your crock pot. Why? Well crock pots don't get up to the necessary heat level to properly reconstitute the freeze dried beans, rice etc. that is in the mix.I believe you add 7 cups of water and a small can of tomato paste. (8oz) to a large pot. Heat, mix and wallah. Step one is complete. Then if your gonna add meat, nows the time. Transfer the chilli mix over to the crock pot and then put in the meat. One great trick if using hamburger or my favorite, carne asada steak, is to put it right in the pot you cooked the chilli in. Don't rinse it out. The left over bit in the pot with season the meat for ya without having to add any additional salt or Seasons that might over season the chilli.Another great meat choice is beef jerky. Not some cheap dollar store brand but some good quality jerky. Bridgeford makes a half decent jerky that's also reasonably priced. For that just take the jerky out of the pouch,(carefully removing the stay fresh pack) and put in the pot. Add a out one cup of beef stock and simmer covered on low for twenty to thirty minutes. Which ever flavor you use will bleed into the stock and make a rich salty brine. You then strain out the meat and drop into the chilli. Keep the brine, cause you can make some yummy beef soup out of it for a later meal. Transfer the brine to a container with a lid and refrigerate. It will last in the fridge for up to ten days. And if you wanna take your chilli to the next level, add a can or two of Goya seasoned black beans. If you don't want to add additional liquids, just strain the can before adding the beans. But you'll lose a lot of flavor so keep that in mind. This mix is easy to make for a quick meal or a slow cooker mega meal. It'll warm you up, fill your belly and won't hurt your wallet.Well that's it folks. Till next review...Be good to one another. Always keep your sticks on the ice. And always put the seat down after you flush. Mehr.
