Works well. High quality. For adult hands
I bought this to help my finger strength. I middle aged and play basketball and feel like my fingers don’t have the dexterity they used to, I don’t have the touch around the basket in my youth. So I bought this to help my fingers. The product is high quality and the thumb ring is a slightly adjustable for larger or smaller hands, but it’s too big for my middle school aged old son. When I use it, I can feel exertion across my entire hand so I know I’m exercising my whole fingers. The smaller finger grip style devices don’t do that, as with those you don’t start with your fingers fully extended. The only concern is a fellow player is an orthopedic surgeon and he said to go easy on it for fear of straining my forearm tendons. So I pay attention to that and I can feel strain there when I use it too much. But I feel like the exercises are working and my finger dexterity is improving. I also casually play guitar and I feel like it would be helpful for musicians trying to improve their finger strength.

Very small movement but good. VERY light resistance.....
I like this but.... I use it in addition to 3 other hand devices. Out of the 4, this would be the first I'd give up. But I do use it everyday while I watch tv. The pinky finger does not get much movement. Again, I do use it everyday

Good as a condiment to other exercise equipment.
So, I just received this item the other day and so far I find it to be worth the money that I spent. I have a version of this that was intended for martial artist... ...all metal and hook like finger holds and I have barely used it because the poundage of the springs is too heavy and the hook finger holds hurt your fingers! So this item, the finger holds do not hurt your hands and the spring poundage is less, making it something I can use! So, my thoughts on this product are this... ...this is not your primary hand strengthening device. You need to use this in conjunction with items like Pro Hands grip strengtheners, grippers, etc. this is a condiment to primary grip strengthening tools. Tools like Pro Hands only have you working your fingers/hands in a limited range and this tool expands the fingers more allowing the muscles involved in gripping to be hit differently. For me this tool will probably be used for maybe four controlled sets of ten daily. I am a little concerned for the strings breaking so I definitely don't let the springs just snap back... ...I control the release all the way until the end. What I don't understand is the item description says that the tension can be varied and I see no way of doing that.

Great for my fretting hand (guitar)
I bought this to strengthen my fingers while in a sprawled out position. I can tie a Velcro tie to the pinky or index and side of device to pull my pinky or index out further. Not sure if this was done on purpose but there is a raised part of plastic in each finger hole and it simulates the strings of a guitar. When I lay back on my chair, I can rest the bottom of the frame on my chest near my shoulder and adjust in various positions. It is comfortable to do while relaxing and watching TV. But remember this is an excersize, so stretch your fingers and hand before and after.I was not paid or given a free sample for this review. I actually bought a used one from Amazon. I had my reservations because it was used and this thing does look complex and awkward. I couldn’t be happier (hence the review). The purple frame is metal and sturdy and does not flex or bow in the middle. The green part is plastic and it seems to serve for for reinforcement and aesthetics. I’m super happy this didn’t turn out to be the piece of crap I was afraid it might be. Other than that, I like the colors because it reminds me of Devastator from the Transformer cartoons. :pSomeone in a guitar forum questioned, “Why not just practice pressing down on a real guitar?”. As that is a basic must, this allows you to press down while gently pulling your fingers out further than you can on your own. This is the best way I can envision assistance in widening my reach on a guitar fret board.

Keeps fingers spread apart with even tension on all, even your little finger.
I received this from Amazon used like new that I assume somebody sent back. I always get good deals this way and I can never even tell they were touched. I have multiple hand exerciser’s. I pretty well use my Grip Master’s for whole hand and this for fingers. If I could only have one it would easily be this. But this is more advanced and does take more effort at first. You would have to start out with 10 reps say 2 times a day or get a set back. I have had nothing that exercises the little finger but this. I regularity use the medium Grip Master at 50 reps but learned I had to start at 25 with this. I am glad I received this before they were out of stock. One of the main reasons this is so good is it keeps your fingers spread apart with even tension. Your fingers are bent just like you are playing guitar, just what you need. Nothing else I’ve seen manages to do all this.
