This docking station is a solid choice if you need to clone drives or just need extra hard drive space. The offline cloning feature is really convenient, and I like having the extra USB ports. It's not the smallest device out there, but it works well and does what it promises.

On an old machine I was getting a warning that it might fail at any time...I pulled some files to thumbdrives and purchased this device on 8/16/2025. The drive telling me it was going to fail was an old 80Gig on a refurbished computer I had purchased years ago. I didn't see anthing thing like that available except on the used market so I picked up a couple of new 1 Terabyte inexpensive drives. I decided to try a direcect stand alone cloning with the old drive in slot 1 and the new drive in slot two. I had only one problem with the instructions where it said to keep pressing the buttion for 30 seconds...then I realized that it meant hold the button down for 30 seconds (on some devices pressing the button a number of times in a certain time limit is a command)...took at least 20 minutes to clone the drive...I had wandered off...Then I tried the cloned drive....it came up with the same error the old drive had reported....so I laughed...works great now...obviouly there is a great deal of space on the new drive I might be able to recover but the old drive had plenty of space for my purposes so I havn't botherd yet. Pleased with the product and plan to use more of it's features.

This was the perfect accompaniment for our internal drives after the motherboard in our computer died. The SATA drives fit easily into slots (l bought the 2 slot version) and transfer of files was achieved. No weird coding or setup, truly the epitome of plug and play. Well designed, slim design, comes with al the necessary cables. No need to install additional programs. It just works.

I brought this device for 2 reasons. It is a HDD docking station and it has a cloning feature built in. I originally was using it as a dock for expanding my computer storage - which it was and still is working great for that purpose; however, I wanted to try to clone data from one HDD (HDD #1) to another HDD (HDD #2) recently. Well, I can say the cloning works 100%.... but in my case HDD #2 was a larger storage size than #1, and for some reason after cloning the data to drive #2 it was only being detected with the smaller capacity as drive #1. Essentially, my larger storage drive was now only showing a very small capacity than it actually had. I had to format #2 and then it's full capacity was back. I was hoping the cloning would just essentially use a portion of the #2 drive and the rest still be available for more data - but it dosen't seem like that's the case. So my need for cloning was not fulfilled with this device.

The docks work really good and are very convenient. I use them to back up the laptop. Works really good for that purpose.
