I thought Roll-N-Lock was supposed to be the best?!?
I never had a tonneau cover before but in my experience with others everyone always spoke very highly of the Roll-N-Lock retractable covers. Easy to install, worked well, super durable. Like they were the best of the best, top of the line, best money could buy. So when I got a new truck and wanted a retractable cover I bought a Roll-N-Lock 131A-XT. I had it ordered and shipped to a local store. The box was in great shape externally from freight shipping. And the item seemed packaged quite well when I opened it so I assumed all was well.But when I went to install it, I found this cover to be finished with lots of cheap little plastic piece the were either already busted, or broke very easily. (See pictures). Some plastic spring loaded clips to aid in click/locking… broken when I went to install. Some plastic trim pieces on the front edge of the cover? Broke off the front edge the first time I closed the cover. And this pieces are like SUPER cheap flimsy plastic.Also all of the rubber seals and trim are very cheaply attached and constantly pull free from their tracks and have to be reset back into place. Also, they even shorted me two screws and rubber washers so I had to run to the hardware store just to finish the install. Pretty sad.So now I have to decide if I uninstall the whole thing and try to return it and then find something else. I already had to wait almost 2 months for it to arrive in freight to Hawaii. Frustrating.Very disappointing. I really expected a lot more from a brand name like Roll-N-Lock and especially because this thing is well over two thousand dollars!
