Q: Do you need to wear/apply the brace differently for golfer's elbow than you do for tennis elbow?

Yes, you would definitely wear it differently for golfer's elbow. You need to have the gel portion over the inside of your forearm to apply pressure to the correct location. For tennis elbow it is worn on the outside of the forearm. I'm surprised the seller would not know the difference. That's why the conditions are referred to by two different names: "tennis" vs "golf". A little research and you can find an illustration showing how to wear it for golfer's elbow.
