Never Forget
A visceral experience. Highly recommend this book. We all must remember and understand what happens when we allow hate to come to power.

A totally heart-gripping, can't-put- reading experience.
Truly inspiring, a graphic Illustration of inner strength under seemingly impossible conditions. A must read, especially for the younger generation that may have been told that the death camps were a myth.

Stunning.
The last 80 or 90 pages of this book I binged. It's an incredible read and coming from someone who rarely reads fiction let alone historical fiction, I'm so happy I gave this one a chance. ✨️This is a story that captured my heart and I'm so thankful that @annastuartauthor was able to tell the tale of the 3k babies that were born into this death camp. It's remarkable. It's terrifying. It's tragic. It's love. It's honest. And it's a part of our history as a collective. If this topic makes you comfortable then this is the book for you.In my opinion, it had little do with with midwifery and everything to do with human kind during WWII. That being said, you don't need to be fluent or even passionate about birth in order to receive the medicine this book has to offer.Again, thank you Anna for creating such a story and giving light to the souls lost during this time period.

Gripping
Historical fiction is my favorite genre and I am a midwife, so this book drew me in right away. The author did a great job honoring the victims of the Holocaust l. She delicately wove the history and heartbreak into a captivating tale. I highly recommend this book!

utterly, heartbreakingly, wonderful.
I’ve read many many first person accounts of the horrors of WW2, the stories so bravely told by those who survived the camps; and yet this book has had a surprisingly profound effect on me.Anna Stuart has somehow taken fact and fiction and merged them together in such a powerful way that it has brought to life the midwife, her family, friends and the women she helped in the darkest of places and times.Breathtaking. Simply breathtaking.

Heartbreaking, Heart-stopping, A book that needed to be written.
This book went some way to bringing home the hideous fate of so many Jewish people during WW2, the torture and torment suffered and the callous nature of their captors. But it also creates the question: Could this happen again? I believe the answer is yes when I hear of atrocities in Ukraine perpetuated by the Russians. Mankind never learns the futility of war or the value of those different from themselves, even in small ways. Rather than try to remove slavery and other crimes against against humanity from the history books, we should make sure everybody is taught about them as a learning resource to help us all to live more peaceably with others, to embrace our differences and to learn from each other, to make this world a better place to live.

A harrowing yet gripping read
I knew very little of the atrocities that happened at Auschwitz, however reading this book has educated me to the facts. Being a history geek I was fascinated by the true story that was the inspiration for this book and did my own research into the real midwife of Auschwitz whilst reading this novel. Anna Stuart has written a true page turner keeping much of the history try within her novel. I would definitely recommend.
