Great edc pack
Great backpack! I took the belt and chest strap off immediately. Holds my 15” MacBook Pro, fits like a glove. My only complaint is the front compartment doesn’t fully unzip, hence the 4 stars. It’s a perfect size however, not too many compartments, love the side pocket for a mouse, power supply for the MacBook or a cell phone. Love the bottle holder, also holds my 20 ounce yeti cup too. Another reviewer mentioned the 2 small inside pockets that wee too small for any real practical use. He was 100% correct. This would have been more useful as one large pocket.16 month update (third picture is after 16 months)I have changed my rating to 5 stars. After carrying this pack every day for over a year for work it is the perfect pack. I have looked everywhere and I have yet to find anything better. It has held up great, zippers are as good as day 1, no wear in the material, no stains, looks like new still. What does it hold? Front pocket has my bible and a mini umbrella. Inside I carry a maxpedition micro, notebook, altoids personal first aid kit (in the see through zipper pocket), altoids tin, sunglasses in case, digital forehead thermometer, bottle of ibuprofen and a pen and highlighter with room for a few more items. I typically carry an iPad in the laptop compartment, but could easily move that into the main compartment behind the notebook in the picture and fit my 15” MacBook Pro in the laptop compartment. I also carry various charging cords in the mesh pocket. If I could change anything it would be:Larger internal storage pocket (where the green Altoids tin is, should be deeper), also I would have the main compartment unzip further. However I still love this pack, it’s very durable and I can definitely recommend it to anyone.

EDC pack I've been looking for
Ordered this as a replacement for my North Face Borealis, which was oversized and well worn from 8+ years of high school, college, and occasional travel use.The laptop section is perfect for a 10x16 "shooter's cut" IIIA armor panel, and there's still an internal sleeve I can use for my laptop. The front pouch is a perfect fit for my large electronic cable organizer pouch. The main section holds my mini trauma kit and my boo-boo kit, an extra tourniquet, a spare 15rd glock mag (in the sunglasses pouch) and is still about 60% empty so I can add a rain jacket or a change of clothes to use this as an overnight bag.The water bottle pouch is well stitched and holds a 32oz nalgene close to the bag, but it's still easy to remove and to store. The side pocket is perfect for any of the condor/maxpedition mini tool pouches if you have a compact flashlight, multitool, knife, etc. For now mine just holds a knife sharpener and a facemask for stores that require it.The bag, like anything else from mountainsmith, seems like it will be very durable. This bag is not getting replaced anytime soon. It's very compartmental, but not tactical and covered in MOLLE, though there's a few small, hardly noticeable strips at the bottom of the pack if you need it.Buy it.

Not as pictured
The bag I received has yellow zipper pulls, black yellow and white label and a black carabineer patch. Not tan as shown in the picture. The bag itself is good but Amazon need to correct the picture. The black and tan color combination is what got me interested in this pack.

Perfect backpack
Absolutely love this backpack! It has a padded, zippered laptop pocket, an internal pocket to put a water bladder, and many other zippered pockets. It fits my short stature, and full figure perfectly. In addition, it is a great-looking backpack!

Best back pack in a long time
Great quality. Laptop section is excellent. Like the high vis yellow interior. I ordered 3 of these. 1 for myself and two for my boys 6 and 8 for school because the cheap back packs last about 3 months. All three packs are high quality and holding up great.

A place for everything
I consider this a perfect bag for a commuter / student. The laptop side pocket is a must have.

99% perfect
If you need a small pack for the day, this is the bag for you. Perfect size to carry everything you need for the day and it's not a pack that looks like you are going to trek the Yukon with. Great pack. Only one thing to be mindful of: The small strap that connects the two shoulder straps that is in front at your chest. The clip on that strap will fall off because the stitched fold stop at the end of the strap will not stop the clip from falling off. Just add a small safety pin and you are good to go.
