I use this in my dogs home made food, it is so easy to use and has no smell or flavor (I tried a bit to test it out). Due to there being no taste, my dog easily eats his food with no fuss and enjoys it. Fantastic quality, there is a lot of product so it will last us months. I believe it also helps with my dogs occasionally itchy skin since he no longer has any issues, although I also rub a bit of organic coconut oil on his fur after each bath which makes his fur so soft and is a natural flea repellant. The texture is so fine your pup won't even notice it, so in my opinion it's better than crushing eggshells yourself since it is not only time consuming but it may not come out as fine of a powder as this product. Your dog will love it and thank you later! Remember to consult a vet and/or pet nutritionist before giving your pet any new supplements. Note: I use this product for my pups food in conjunction with other supplements.

This product makes it easy to add calcium to your dog or cats diet. Good for health especially in expectant queens if they are finicky, it's effective! Will reorder.

It is pure egg shell powder with no additives of any type. I make homemade dog food and it is imperative to balance the phosphorus content of the meat protein with the proper amount of calcium, which is normally 1/2 teaspoon of calcium to one pound of protein. This egg shell powder is not affected by heat during cooking the food and does not clump during storage in a cabinet. It does not need to be refrigerated after opening...Just have a set of the tiny measuring spoons for amounts less than 1/4 or 1/8 teaspoon onhand in case you need to measure very small amounts of the egg shell powder. I have several sets of ones that are 1/8,1/16, 1/32, and 1/64 teaspoons, and you'd be amazed how often they come in handy since I have small dogs who require small amounts of various supplements for their health in their home made, all human grade food.

I wanted to be sure before i reviewed. This supplement gave all five of my dogs horrible diarrhea and vomiting. They are small, largest being 20 lbs smallest being 5 pounds. I prepare their food with diets given to me by a certified pet nutritionist in precise measurements. No one got sick before i used this additive and no one has gotten sick since i removed it. All other ingredients have remained the same. To be 100% certain, after they all recovered, i slowly started adding the prepared food back into their diets, the diarrhea started again. I had to throw away all of the food i had prepared, vacuum sealed and froze in advance of us going out of town for 3 weeks. I'm out a lot of money between the lost food, vet bills and medicine.
