Well it is a ferrule. I was kind of scared by the one bad review but after I got them and used them on two bike cable projects I think they work very well. As far as the issues with cables pushing through the material of these ferrules, after cutting with the proper tool or a cutoff wheel one needs to dress the rough edge with a stone and avoid excessive bends on length on cable layout. I needed a few extra ferrules and these met that need well. There is nothing really flashy about them, they are pretty generic. I knocked one star because they are a little shorter than I am used to but they still did the job.

i bought these because i ran out and my LBS did not carry them so i googled this and finally after hours of searching i found a bag of brake cable housing caps give all your cable a nice look

The ferrules do the job. The only thing is they are very thin not heavy duty or heavy chrome but still the do the job with no problems.

It is my fault but the cable end caps are way bigger than the cables. I should have paid attention to the sizing in the information

goofed and ordered these ferrules, when I wanted cable end caps.

Ordered this to "upgrade" my bike and my wife's bike to have mini ape hanger handlebars before taking them to Biltmore on our 1 year anniversary for a more comfortable ride. Worked great, clamped them with regular wire crimpers but seemed to do just fine
