I almost didn’t purchase this because of the poor reviews. However, I took a chance and boy, I’m glad I DID. I am an African American woman. Saw this used in a YouTube video and loved the ease of the person using it. I looked and debated 2 weeks after reading the reviews. I took a chance. Gorgeous. A lot of people suggest shaking first. The directions tell you to shake it as well. Squeeze a little at a time, never felt it would spill. Very easy to apply. Washes out very easily. I ordered the blond and I’ll order the red. Just because. It’s fun to have color, when I want an change it up. Hope this helps the undecided.

10/10 would NOT recommend. It didnt work for me . It took too long & didn't even dry all the way . My hair was so sticky & the color barely showed up . Mid process of doing my hair , the tube broke . Very messy. Only bright side was that it is washable so whatever it fell on I was able to wash it off with no stain.

Thought it didn't work on my medium brown hair until I went out into sunlight... saw no color at all until I stepped outside. And you can't bank on the color that you see in the box... I'm thinking that the lighter your hair is, the closer it will be to the color on the box; on darker brown hair, it shows up as a deeper bluish purple. You can run a comb through it, tho, which is nice in comparison to other products that I've tried. I think this would be great for someone who may have an event out in the sun & wants to have a temporary streak of color in their hair. SIDENOTE: May take more than one wash to remove.

Great idea and trust to Clairol to come up with this. Does NOT stain. You can better set the color by using a light setting on your hair dryer to set. Comes out when you wash hair. Caution: the sponge applicator is useless as it comes apart after about three uses. Contacted Clairol but no real answer as to why. I suggest you use a spoolie brush, a fine tooth comb, or some other device to aid application. This is made in Italy. I bought a couple of colors, and after trying, I bought a duplicate of each. Color choices are great; some are natural and some are a little "out" there.

Nice for synthetic black hair, gives nice highlights, but you will get stains everywhere if you are not extremely cautious.

If you have brown hair it doesn't work good . You can't hardly see the purple and it gets all over everything and comes off easy

DO NO BUY THIS CRAP. THE HAIR IN THE PICTURE OF THE BOX DOESNT EVEN LOOK LIKE THE ONE YOU RECEIVE. THAT SHOULD ALREADY TELL YOU SOMETHING. IN THE IMAGES IT LOOKS SOME KIND OF PURPLE AT LEAST. ON THE ACTUAL BOX, WHERE IT SAYS "SHIMMERING", THE PICTURE LOOKS LIKE A BRUNETTE WITH SOME SHINE ON HER HAIR. AND THAT IS WHAT YOU GET! NO COLOR WHATSOEVER! JUST A STICKY, PASTY, DISGUSTING GOO ON YOUR HAIR, THAT MAKES IT FEEL LIKE TWO-WEEKS DIRTY, AND STAINS EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH! BECAUSE AS YOU PASS YOUR HAND THROUGH YOUR DRIED AND DONE HAIR, YOU GET THIS GLITTERY SHIMMER AND PURPLE CAST ON YOU HAND AND STAIN EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH! THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I BUY SOME KIND OF HAIR COLOR FROM CLAIROL, AND EVERY SINGLE TIME IT SUCKED. CLAIROL HAIR COLOR SIMPLY SUCKS. AND THIS WAS THE WORST EVER. MONEY WASTED, HAIR RUINED, EVERYTHING I TOUCHED STAINED! STAY AWAY FROM THIS CRAP.

I color my hair and don't want it to be obvious as a solid color. So, I use Clairol Color Crave Hair Color Makeup, applying it by dabbing it on my natural bristle hair brush, then brushing it through my hair. If I get too much in one area, I can wipe it off with a face wipe/makeup remover sheet, or a damp cotton ball. When the product dries (it isn't stiff at all), I brush my hair again and then style it. I use a curling iron and the product doesn't damage my hair. It's very gentle. There are several shades to choose from for the effect you want. It can also be used as directed for large sections of color.
