Very nice book has lots of information.

So, funny story. First time I went fishing on the Gulf, I was catching tons of whiting and throwing them back because I thought they were undersized redfish. If I had bought this book ahead of time, I would never have made that mistake and I would have enjoyed some delicious whiting. Since then, everything I've caught I've been able to identify with this book, even the weird stuff like lizard fish and smooth puffers. I've got family coming to visit and fish with me, so I bought them copies of this book to whet their appetite.

This book contains helpful information for anglers. The color illustrations are accurate and beautiful. Every aspect of a species is covered: alternate names, habitat, fishing tips, food value, and dozens of other facts. It is a very handy book and very interesting to read. The author is a true expert and an avid fisherman.I can recommend this book without hesitation.

I fish Tampa Bay and the surrounding Gulf Coast mainly and this is a great guide to have around no matter how experienced you are. Besides having great pictures of all of the common fish and good tips about baits, tackle, habitats, and whether they're tasty or not, it's handy for showing others what fish you're talking about, settling arguments on exactly what that fish was you pulled in, and proving that, no, you didn't make the name up, that is the fish's real name.

Love, Love, Love this book! We are near the Texas Gulf Coast and a lot of the fish in the book are found on the Florida and Mexico gulf coast. It's got great pictures, great descriptions and even tells you what is edible and what is not. Includes offshore and deep sea fish too! I would buy this book again and just may so I have one in my truck and one on my bedside table! It's definitely the best illustrated and written book on fish in the Gulf of Mexico!! Buy one for the fishing person in your life!

Great book to have with you when you're fishing!

Love the way it divides the fish into family groups. Good Pictures for identification, and where to find the fish and how to catch them. If you are wanting to learn about salt water fishes in the Gulf, you cant go wrong with this book..
