There’s something special and quite entertaining about coming of age tales of teen romance, betrayal, overcoming life’s challenges, and becoming better for it.Alcicia Silverstone ( of Batman and Robin fame) really steels the screen in this role and you can tell she’s going to take Hollywood by storm.The run time is 97 minutes which feels like a misfire when it should have been 120 minutes.Normally I’d give this 5 bags of popcorn but Paul Rudd is clearly much older than her and that’s kinda gross and nothing we should celebrate, so I’d give it 4 bags of popcorn, however he does such a good job in his role and is quite the charming nice guy with a heart of gold. He realy reminded me of us movie buffs who just want to find love with a nice girl so I gotta award another bag of popcorn.The final rating for Clueless is 5 bags of popcorn, 5 sodas, and I’ll toss in the yellow murder envelope that is a must for anyone playing Clue, for which this movie is a sequel to the original Clue 1 starring Tim Curry and Christopher Lloyd and directed by Jonathan Lynn.

Clueless is the iconic mid-90s coming of age movie starring Alicia Silverstone, Brittany Murphy, and Paul Rudd (in one of his first roles), and sporting a supporting cast of Breckin Meyer, Donald Faison, Wallace Shawn, Dan Hedaya, and Stacey Dash. It is loosely based on Jane Austen's 1815 novel Emma, and directed by Amy Heckerling who also directed the 1980s coming of age classic Fast Times at Ridgemont High.The movie is basically set around the life of pampered rich girl Cher (played by Silvertone) who can argue anything to get what she wants, as taught to her by her lawyer father (played by Hedaya). In her high school, she is the leader of a group of girls just as vain and clueless as she is, including her best friend Dionne (played by Dash). Brittany Murphy plays Tai, a new student at the school whom Cher takes on as her charity case to make her over into one of the groups. When Tai's personality changes Cher then sees firsthand how she treats people and ultimately learns to grow up. The other big plot revolves around Cher's love life. She tries to make out with her school crush and is surprisingly rebuffed, and then falls for Rudd's character, which is a bit creepy given that he is her stepbrother.For those who get the Whatever! edition of the DVD, the extras include the trailers, a bunch of behind-the-scenes featurettes (seven in all ranging from about three minutes to almost twenty minutes), and then a bunch of previews for other movies. So, if you like bonus material, you get a good amount here.Overall, the movie is a classic. It is very funny and has some dramatic moments. Yes, the thought of Cher and Josh becoming a thing is a bit creepy and is probably not something that would be added to the storyline if it was made today, but it was not the focus of the movie by any means. Of course, the various actors have gone on to have wildly varied careers since Clueless with Silverstone basically having retired from acting, Rudd making blockbuster movies (and hardly aging), and Murphy having tragically passed away after her career hitting a bit of a slump. It would be nice if they make a 20th-anniversary Blu-Ray within the next couple of years and get the cast together to do a commentary track and new cast interviews. Who knows whether that will actually happen, but for now, this is a great version of the movie (there is a Blu-Ray upgrade of this set floating around out there), and it is definitely worth watching.

Clueless is a classic 90’s movie, so much so that I tend to think of it as a 90’s time capsule. The fashion missteps, the lingo, the incredible soundtrack. This movie perfectly encapsulates California teenagers in the 90’s, as well as my midwestern imagination can fathom. It’s near perfection. And the cherry on top? It was my first introduction to America’s sweetheart Paul Rudd. The man hasn’t aged a day! I’m convinced he sold his soul to the devil, or is God’s favorite child.Despite this movie being everything an elder Millennial like me could ever want, I have one major gripe that I just can’t shake. Please know, I’ve seen this movie at least 30 times, each viewing more delightful than the last. However on this eve of the new year, the year of our lord 2022 looming over us, something stood out to me in this cinematic masterpiece that will change me forever and never allow me to see this movie the same way ever again.Did you see how Josh made that friggen sandwich?!A thick*ss slice of bread. One ONE slice of meat. A small schmear of mayo ON TOP OF THE MEAT. Another thick*ss slice of dry bread on top. And then he just picks it up and eats it like it’s an acceptable sandwich. Sir, that is a crime against humanity and I will not stand for it.I fancy myself a sandwich enthusiast. Sandwiches are my favorite food. There’s nothing better than a well crafted sandwich, and nothing more disappointing than a lousy one. Zero effort was put into this monstrosity and I could think of nothing else through the rest of the movie.A proper, classic, acceptable standard for a well made sandwich is as follows:-Slice of bread-Schmear of mayo and/or mustard of choice(The mustard can vary depending on the protein or style of bread, but must be present in some form for an acceptable balance of acidity)-At least 5 slices of protein-Cheese (optional)-Tomato slices (thickness to taste)-Lettuce and/or sprouts (for texture/crunch)-Final slice of bread, donned with mayo and/or mustard (avocado slices/mash also acceptable)Pickles or pickled onions are also an acceptable additionThis, my friends, a sandwich makes. What Josh (Paul Rudd) assembled in this scene was just lazy, and is completely unacceptable. A truly well crafted sandwich should have a good balance of textures and flavors, and some element of sauce to keep it from being a dry piece of garbage. This is why a Reuben is such a classic! Toasty/griddled bread, salty soft protein, toothy acidic kraut, and that bangin sauce. BLT’s have that crunchy/salty thing, with the wet of the tomato and sauciness with the mayo. It’s all about balance.Josh ruined the potential that sandwich had. He pulled out a whole damn tray bigger than what you’d see at Subway, full of meats, and used *one slice*What kind of sociopath does that?!In summation, this movie hits all the 90’s notes you could ever need, but if you like sandwiches and have respect for the art of sandwich making, avoid it at all costs or you’ll spend the rest of the movie writing a stupid weird review on Amazon on New Year’s Eve.Oh crud it’s 12:38.Happy New Year! 🥪

Klasse Teenager - Komödie aus den USA. Voller Witz , Charme , Esprit mit einer zauberhaften und hübschen Alicia Silverstone. Was für mitunter intelligente Wortwitz - Dialoge... himmlisch !✌️Auch die anderen Darsteller überzeugen durch kluge Dialoge und spielen ihre Rollen hervorragend. Absolut empfehlenswerte , spaßige und hinreißende Komödie.✌️ Sehenswert... einfach Top !✌️ Deshalb 5 Sterne !!✌️✌️

Je me rappelle très bien avoir vu ce film au cinéma lors de sa sortie, et j’avais adoré. Je l’ai très peu vu diffusé à la télé, et c’est bien dommage, il mérite d’être vu. Alicia Silverstone est géniale dans le rôle de Cher (rien à voir avec la chanteuse lol), la bande son est très bonne, typiquement 90s, plutôt rock. Un film que je recommande pour passer un bon moment

La película es lo que esperaba de material y de todo, es de excelente calidad y llegó a tiempo

1. dvd arrivato puntualmente e con tutte le lingue che servono; audio e video di qualità; sottotitoli presenti ed abbastanza aderenti al parlato; prezzo basso in relazione alla qualità audio video ed al valore del film;2. trama molto semplice ma efficace nell'insegnare (e ricordare) facendo divertire (molto!);3. il film é molto divertente dal primo all'ultimo fotogramma;4. la regista é molto brava e gli attori recitano tutti molto bene; Alicia Silverstone é perfetta nel ruolo;5. vi sono molte frasi direi quasi celebri da ricordare;6. la fotografia é molto bella, come quasi sempre é solo nei film americani;7. anche i costumi degli attori sono molto interessanti;8. molto deludenti le musiche, ma non si notano affatto perché il film, col suo essere molto divertente e molto attraente anche come fotografia e costumi, non fa notare la scarsezza di pregio delle scelte musicali che accompagno le scene: c'erano mille musiche dell'epoca della ambientazione ed altre mille dell’epoca della realizzazione, molto più adatte e molto più belle; solo una canzone (famosa di per sé) si salva, ma viene fatta ascoltare per pochi istanti; probabilmente il suo essere stato fatto in soli 40 giorni spiega la insufficienza di tale aspetto che, come già detto, non si nota grazie alla superlatività del resto del film.
