No barking to the point
The pups took to these talking commands too too too quickly and now they keep me running. I was surprised at how quickly they learned the commands I placed on each one (of 3) walk, eat, play ball. It took a couple of times to record the commands and I had to talk slow and clear to produce the result I wanted. Once recorded it is clear and easily understood. Now I have to place them out or reach until time for the activity except eat, the other two until I have the time. Excellent size for locations accessible yet out of the way and sturdy to take the paw and nose taps these guys provide to say what they want. For the money I would do it again and again but no need they seem to last forever.

This is a review of the product and not the *use* of the product (my dog uses these buttons regularly, but training methods, dog interest, and individual results may vary). The buttons, though, are really well made. You may have to record your voice a little louder than expected, as the speaker is small, but batteries last a long time - and they've stood up to my 70lb Samoyed smacking them for quite a while. They might be too large for a housecat, but I think most dogs should be able to press them without an issue.

MY DOG IS LETTING US KNOW WHAT SHE WANTS AND ITS GREAT!
This is our second set. we have the places buttons and these are for more words. I like this one due to it being yellow which is a brighter color dogs can see. It takes a bit but once you train the word or saying you want and place it near where you want them to associate it it works . I have one near her toys saying "want to play" and a treat one next to her treats. She's training us really lol! I will keep getting these and working on her vocab to get her to let us know all she needs and it helps work their brain as well.

Fun, but fragile. Looking forward to a better design from the seller.
However this works, I'm thoroughly entertained. Yes, dogs can "get it" quickly.Only problem: For rambunctious or more destructive puppers...the ones who steal slippers and empty the bathroom waste bin, these may not be rugged enough. The idea is to have the buttons, in the mat, accessible always, so your pet can spontaneously press a button to tell you of a need etc. I spent some time in my hobby room, and Pup brought me one button, chewed beyond repair, never again to cheerfully say "outside". They are designed to be easy to remove from the mat, but I would suggest the sellerA. Make the buttons as tough as the mat.B. Use a higher-quality recording deviceC. Make the battery compartment easier to open (for us humans).D. Go digital with the recording, and power with a watch battery. That said, these are a hoot, they do work, and you and your pet are in for fun together time!

Pup Enrichment
These buttons are sturdy and easy to set up. We have 2 boxers and my daughter's Argentinian Mastiff stay with us quite a bit. I thought it would be cute if they could "tell us what they want". This product comes with great instructions regarding how to help train your pup with these buttons. I chose to have one of our buttons associated with treats. If nothing else it is super fun for them to use the button (with help at this point) to get a treat. Our male boxer got mad though, my daughters dog figured the link out and was pressing the button like crazy and much to our boxers dislike, was getting all the treats :P

Didn't work
could try to record audio for button to play when pressed but it took many tries to get it to work. it only sometimes gave second beep saying it recorded the audio. for example if you tried recording the audio five times, it would only work once. it would never play any audio back however.
