Q: I've gotten brushes like this before and pole snapped in half with not that much pressure. Will this break easily scrubbing a shower floor?

I don't think so, don't know how much pressure you apply. I use it to scrub my tile patio & it's been strong enough for me. The bristles are hard & what I thought was a scraper, turns out it's more like a squeegee.
