Authentic Maeda-en Japanese Genmai-cha Green Tea - 100 Foil Wrapped Tea Bags (Pack of 1)

I thought this would be some cheap crap genmaicha. I did not have high hopes at all - and there is a LOT of bad genmaicha out there that tastes like tasteless dirt, (if that's possible). The only thing that gave me some hope was I could tell it was Japanese by the name Maeda En and the name was similar to Ito En and so I thought...maybe it might be close to being as good as Ito En?It was a long shot..but I was pleasantly surprised! This is some great tea! It's second to Ito-En but a close second and a way better value - much cheaper. And, I like the tea bags. Although I prefer bulk tea, or at least unbleached bags - at least they are biodegradable. My biggest problem with Ito En is that there is so much non-biodegradable waste with the nylon/plastic tea bags and wrappers.Maeda is my new go-to Genmaicha! Such a great, warming flavor, especially during winter. I am raw vegan and during the cold winter months, I relax the "raw" part of my diet just a bit, and I add hot tea and steamed greens to my diet as it just feels right. Genmaicha is just right. I would highly recommend this tea!

Have loved green tea and roasted rice ever since having it at a few Japanese restaurants and so far this is my favorite that also comes in an individual pouch. Have tried loose leaf and rice versions but those require strainers that are a pain to clean and usually for larger quantities as opposed to just a cup. Had tried some Korean brands as well in a pouch but found them to be very weak in taste in green tea as well as rice. This Japanese Maeda En brand is just right in terms of flavor and roasted rice taste. Will continue buying as the price is also very reasonable when using S&S.

My wife and I have used loose genmaicha for many years. We've also been using the Maeda-en sencha teabags for a couple years. When I saw they packaged this genmaicha tea in bags, we decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a good alternative to the bulk loose tea when we want to have just a cup of tea instead of a potful. The taste is pure genmaicha and the teabag appears to be plastic free. I'll buy it again.

I first tried this out a few times at work. I'm honestly not exactly a green tea kind of gal but this has changed me. First off, when you first open it, you can clearly smell the roasted rice. (For some reason, I just love the scent!)Just boil water and place the tea bag and let it steep for a few minutes depending on how strong you want it. Once it's ready to drink, it just simply divine in my opinion. Its a refreshing taste and not too heavy. I usually have this during my 2nd break. You know that 2:30pm slump, this gets you out of it. But shockingly I don't have a hard time sleeping afer this.The only con I would say is the tea bag kind of leaks and you do get some tea fillings at the end.

Green tea - awesome.Roasted brown rice flavor - awesome.Matcha - green tea in powder form.Green tea with roasted brown rice flavor and matcha - mind blowing.If you have not tasted this particular type of tea yet, you're really missing out.Just do yourself a favor and try it once......You're very welcome! :)**UPDATE: I have bought and ingested a total of 10 of these bags so far. I drink one bag daily - I rarely ever miss one. Green tea has been scientifically proven to be very healthy, and some scientists even say it's better than water. If you want a portal into the world of tea, without having to buy tea pots, learning how to prepare tea, etc., then just buy a bag of these. Dunk it in cold water to make iced tea, dip it in hot water to make hot tea. It couldn't be more easy, and healthy! Cheers!**

Wonderful! I've made an effort to cut out sugary drinks, having them occasionally rather than every day. I suffer from long-term chronic pain due to a severe car accident, and noticed that sugary drinks/foods were exacerbating the issue.I love green tea with roasted rice, and cold brew it daily as my go-to beverage. I stumbled across this Genmai Cha with Matcha and decided to try it. I was instantly hooked! It reminds me of the tea I used to be served in the higher end Japanese restaurants in Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. Very good flavor, smooth, no unpleasant "bite" that some other teas can give. Definitely an A++++!

My only issue with my own use of this product is the individual foil wrapping. Although it keeps the product fresher longer it adds up in the solid waste category.

This is my favorite genmai tea and I would give it 5 stars based simply on the product, but fulfillment always sends 1 bag of 100 units when I order and pay for a 2-pack of 2 bags for a total of 200 units.
