Bernat Super Value Yarn, 5 oz, Topaz, 1 Ball

This is not super soft or silky soft. It’s basic yarn. If you need and can afford the silky stuff than I’d get that instead. I did make a scarf out of this, despite it being a bit scratchy. I live on a budget. And in the wintertime, I don’t give a dang about scratchy, I’d rather be warm when I’m outside shoveling.This is medium thickness. It is by no means chunky. I knew this when I bought this, so I bought two so I could double up the yarn as a crocheted it into my scarf. It turned out great.I was happy to find solid black in this budget line of yarn. Where I live, it’s almost impossible to find black yarn. There’s every shade of gray available, but black seems to be an endangered species of yarn out here.

Yarn is super soft and true to color. Arrived safely packaged in both a bubble mailer and a plastic bag around the skein, so I had no worries about leaks or dirt from the shipping/handling process.

I was trying to match yarn left from a previous project for which I have neither the maker nor the color code via internet, and that, of course, is impossible. But this is close, a little darker than what I wanted. I've learned I can trust Bernat yarns over the years I've been knitting professionally: the twist doesn't deviate too much, the hues are consistent, and the prices offer a good buy. I'll have to buy more because I think this color is being retired.

The weight shows as 4 but it's not consistent, it goes from 3 to 4. It's also very scratchy. I hope it becomes more soft and thicker with washing but I have my doubts. I only bought this yarn as I wasn't able to find this color in Loops & Threads Impeccable or Caron One Pound. Uck! I won't waste my time on this yarn again.

I bought this after using other Bernat yarn. This isn't a soft yarn, but it does crochet beautifully with no knots that I have seen. Because I'm making an afghan for a toddler, I'm thankful that it's a little stiffer because it will be able to stand up to her dragging it around. Beautiful color.

I have used Bernat Super Value yarns for years. This new yarn is a little softer and not quite so thick as the older yarn; I like it even better. Hard to beat this yarn for ease of care, price and durability.

I was looking for a beautiful deep shade of red for Christmas gifts I was knitting and the True Red was just too bright but this Cherry Red is the perfect deep Christmas red I was looking for.

I purchased 2of these because they were listed for only $3.50. comparable to Red Heart Super Saver, its a great yarn for amigurumi.

Very good quality yarn, would definitely use again.

Brilliant yarn

I was charged $17.00 for one ball. Description said it was a pack So I was expecting atleast 5 or 6 balls. 1 ball showed up. I can go to my local Michael's and get the same ball for $4.99. Deceitful description.

I purchased this for my mother. She has started a quilt but did not have enough wool to finish. After searching several stores online and in person without finding the colour she was looking for, so glad to find out that Amazon had it! She loves this wool, it matches the colour of her quilt exactly; it is such a beautiful colour.

I normally love this yarn and do fine with Bernat products, however this particular yarn must have gotten caught in the machine winding it somehow as both ends were in the middle and it is a giant knotted mess. I have never seen anything like it, very frustrating to unknot, I'm not impressed.
