Q: how to attach to the house?

I cut a hole in the wall, in my case brick and wood under, pushed the vent through, sealed with caulk at all layers of the wall, used screws and duct sealing tape to connect the insulated 4” flexible pipe. The screws and the caulk and the friction in the opening hold it in place. It’s not going anywhere. For dryers of course no screws only tape. If yours doesn’t stay in place, an angled bracket attached inside the house would be an idea.

Q: Is there screen that will keep critters from getting in vent?

You never want to have a screen or grill in a dryer wall vent hood. Lint will accumulate quickly and plug up the vent causing troubles with the dryer, and even a chance of fire. The damper in this unit seems to close nicely, and should suffice to keep critters out. There is one unit, "Dryer Wall Vent" that has a magnetic closure to keep the door shut. Works well also.

Q: How do you secure it to the house? Where are the holes to drive screws into wood siding?

Many of our customers prefer that the screws do not show, therefore we do not manufacture our wall vents with pilot holes on the flange. However, if you wish to attach with screws and haven't placed your order yet we would gladly put pilot holes in for you. Most people attach the vent by using a bonding adhesive to adhere to the outside wall.
