The DVD player works
Great gift for a senior. Yes, a lot of the extra functions do not work at all. It seems like a beta unit, not yet completely designed, but released into production. Fortunately, the DVD player was the main focus, and it does that. Did require extra speakers, as the on board sound is SO low. Headphones are awesome, too. But do not expect to be ok with just the base speakers provided. One main attraction was the simple control buttons on the right panel. Just one for the start/pause, nothing too complicated.

I Like the size, easy to carry to work. However it did not play some of my dvds.
