Most poultry feed has a minimal amount of nutrients added and if you feed in a tractor or on pasture these can be further reduced. Adding Electrolytes and other minerals to the drinking water can improve the growth rate of all livestock. The Freedom Ranger chickens are Meat Birds and can pant like a dog after eating and this is one reason the water supplement is used in the summer heat. I buy the 8-oz packet and mix 1/4 Teaspoon in a 5-qt drinker every time its filled. it may be slightly less than ideal but sufficient to keep these chickens hydrated, healthy and gaining weight along with a quality feed. *Photos indicate the health of these meat chickens.

I watched a YouTube video that recommended this for newly hatched quail chicks. I had this available and plain water for the chicks. It works as far as I can tell, to keep chicks healthy from a long journey out of the egg. They definitely preferred to drink plain water over the vitamins though.

This product works well. A little hard to figure out smaller dose amounts. Bought this product for my chickens.
