Word of Advice: Setup tips. Waterproof kit is more durable.
These are my 3rd set of led light strips. I thought I'd give my 2 cents on how these differ and how they're similar to other sets, along with some tips for setup and use.Overall Use:-These are a quick and easy way to give a room more character and ambiance on the cheap. They look cool and help set a mood. Because of their length, I'm able to use the same kit for my entertainment center and have it reach to my office desk.-They work as a nice substitute for a light to use at night. You get plenty of brightness from them and the ability to set it to any color is great.-All these various kits seem to be very similar, so you can't really go wrong with any.-Your remote allows you to set a static color or a nice strobe/breathing effect.Similarities/Differences:-From what I can tell, the actual strips of all these various kits and their remotes are basically the same in terms of quality and use. So long as you're buying the same length, SMD and either waterproof or not, they function the same.-The biggest difference I've found is in the quality of the AC adaptor. Which I'll discuss further in the Tips.Tips:-My 2 previous kits got damaged and stopped working after about a year each. One kit got damaged from the strips themselves having too much fatigue as I would frequently move the shelves to which they were affixed. I found that buying a waterproof kit, even though I didn't need that function, actually makes them more durable. Because of their plastic shell on the outside, they're less subject to fatigue. I'd recommend getting the waterproof kit regardless.-If you want to move these around at time or aren't sure where to set them up quite yet, I'd suggest leaving the adhesive sticker on and not removing it. Instead, come up with a creative way to hang them that doesn't use the adhesive. This allows you to move them easily if you need to. I for example am using a combination of rubber bands and velcro to install these. IF I ever wanted to move them, I could do so without damaging them.-Another big tip is to be careful with the power adaptor. I don't think they're very reliable. My other kit stopped working properly as I think the adaptor died out. It started making a hissing noise and I was worried to turn it on. As I've only had this kit for a week, I'm not sure how reliable the adaptor is. I will say, be careful when moving it around and avoid kinking the wires.

Awesome set of lights.
I recently purchased these lights and I'm extremely happy with my them. The 2 rolls of lights are long enough to use them in different ways. In my case I plan to use them under my kitchen cabinets, and also in my tray ceilings. Both rolls can be connected together to chain them as one continuous light string. These lights are also very versatile in that you could cut them on the indicated line into strips that can be laid out to construct a project (which can be many different things). Doing this will obviously void any warranty but wanted to note that it is possible if you are crafty and know how to use a soldering iron (there are lots of videos on Youtube that show you how to do this with these type of LEDs. The lights also have an adhesive sticky back side to stick it to an area without the need for glue. The remote gives you full control over how the lights operate. You can cycle through the different solid colors, and functions. My favorite is the cycle that slowly fades through all the colors. Note the remote is absolutely needed for the lights to turn on and off and to control the functions of these lights. One last thing that I really love about these lights in addition to them being very bright (or dim if you prefer), is that LED technology consumes way less power than incandescent or CFL bulbs. I'd hight recommend these lights.

Bright & Colorful But Not So Sticky
After receiving these lights I was kind of lost on how to put everything up with all the wires, but after a few minutes of seeing what connects to what I had quickly gotten to work, putting the lights up in my closet. After installing all the lights and wires, I was amazed to see what you get for $25. The strip has very nice and bold Red, Green & Blues. With your controller and can also set your own color scheme which is also a plus. A con for these lights are that they DON’T stick, and the point of these lights are to stick them anywhere and we’ll Stick. But to overcome this product I just used plastic stapes and stuck them on. Overall these Led Light Strips works and functions great with a touch of some cool added features, but with the price like this there outa be something not so great, which is the stickiness but it’s not like it has no adhesive, there’s just some weak points that needed a little plastic staple support.

Good product
I love this product! I got it for my room and it looks amazing! I love how you can turn down and up the color to any brightness you want! I do not know how to work the diy thing but that’s ok. It did not really fall off but I still put tape just to make sure because the back of mine was not that sticky. Easy to use and set up! All I had to do was plug it in to see the lights! Make sure you read the directions First before doing anything!

A philosophical masterpiece
In terms of functionality, this piece is an absolute wack of a product. I bought this 10m strip to light up my whole study room. The red was fine. So was the blue and green. The white however was a retardation of all these colors combined. However, being one of the few humans with a genius IQ (141 precisely) I began to realize a couple of things. First, all these verified 5 stars reviewers undoubtedly has a lower IQ than me for choosing the colors red, blue, and green over white. But most importantly, this is not a product of function. This is philosophy’s relic. As Sir Isaac Newton said in his color spectrum theory, white is not a color. White is all colors combined. The inventor is undoubtedly a philosphical genius with an IQ that almost matches that mine. May the Swedish and Norwegian institutions award him the nobel prize. Supernight deserves it, well done.

Nice lighting
We got this product for my son and set it up in the downstairs for him. It is very nice for the price. We had to do some work downstairs to get it to reflect but once that was done, it turned out very nice. My son loves the lighting but it has to be reflective to get the colors that you want. Just an FYI - Our downstairs is not a finished room.
