Lightweight!
Love my hose now! It never kinks and slides along the ground easily. And very easy to wind up. Great quality. I used my own nozzle as I like different sprays.

Best hose I have every purchased
Excellent construction - have been using for weeks with no kinks or tangles. Lightweight and very flexible Using with oscillating sprinklers and they unfold and roll up with ease. Never had them get knotted or crimped. Design is foolproof with no issues.

Buyer beware - 5th Star pending...
I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before I purchased this hose. This hose is essentially a very long shower head hose. The diameter and construction are the same. The only difference is that my shower head hoses did not leave a metallic residue on my hands when I handled them new. Despite the claims online and on the box of "heavy duty" - based on other reviewers comments of crushing, kinking and splitting - I would not call this hose 'heavy duty'. No more so than running a semi truck over my shower head hose would. When I first opened the plastic bag the hose came in, I was careful to lay the hose down so as to unwind it without tangling the 100 feet. It tangled nonetheless. No kinks, though! The hose does expand when water runs through it so it is a good idea to DRAIN the hose once water spigot is shut off. First use did emit a strong petro-chemical odor from the inside of the hose. This is particularly so because I'm in an area that's experiencing extreme heat so the hot water activated whatever residue is in the hose. I believe this will dissipate over time and use. For 100 feet, the weight of the product is manageable - much lighter than a 'heavy duty' rubber garden hose. Plenty of pressure through the nozzle that was included and my garden sprayer. I have used the hose a couple times and do recommend it with the caveat of durability. My usage is not such to involve the various incidents I read in other reviews but how long this hose lasts is yet to be determined. I would strongly suggest keeping the paperwork, receipt and box should the need arise to call up the "5-year warranty" for replacement of the product in the event of failure. Beware: Although the BOX clearly states the hose has a "5-year warranty", nowhere in the accompanying literature is this restated. (See photos) Further more, despite claims of indestructability in ads and videos, there is a paper included in the box titled "FOR BEST RESULTS" that clearly states not to leave the hose in extreme cold or heat, and other cautions. Enter binding "Arbitration Agreement". This page of fine print essentially prohibits the consumer from any loss or claim that results from the use of the product - defective or otherwise. Thank you.

The first truly kink-free hose I've found.
The Housemate and I have bought probably half a dozen hoses since we moved to Crazy House 10 years ago. They all advertise themselves as "kink free" a claim which now makes both of us purse our lips and say, "Uh huh, pull the other one." Because we have never yet run into a hose which wouldn't kink with the slightest provocation. We always seem to be searching for a better hose, but have been understandably hesitant to lay out good money on yet another hose advertised to do things it doesn't. But the Bionic Steel 304 looked, to both of us, like it couldn't kink, with a metal body over a liner. At $20 it was worth a try because we were at our wit's end over the hose on the reel in front. It was several years old and had kinks pressed into it that we simply couldn't get out. It flopped all over when we tried to roll it onto the reel, and everything leaked. While I figured Teflon tape would fix some of those links, the badly fitting connectors and the twists in the hose were problems we couldn't solve. So we invested. When the 304 arrived, I tried to bend it, and it's not possible to get more than a sharp curve. It can knot, but only lightly. It rolls up on the hose reel like a dream, and it's much lighter than our old hose. With taped connections, and a new leader hose, the only weak link is the hose reel itself which leaves a lot to be desired. (It was cheap. We've learned our lesson.) It's now such a pleasure to water in front because we're not fighting a heavy hose the whole time. Now I've seen a couple of reviews that state that the inner liner burst almost immediately. So far ours is fine, but be assured that if anything does happen, you will hear about it as will the company. The same is true if it finds a way to kink itself up. I'm not playing games with these things anymore. This is war! However, on the strength of our experience with this hose, we're planning on laying out the money for a 50' one in the back garden, where weight and kink-resistance is even more important to us. That's probably the best recommendation I can give for something like this, being willing to buy a second one because the first purchase was so positive. ETA: We've used it for several weeks now and it's still stubbornly kink-free, and it hasn't burst or broken. We're going to get another for the back garden next year, it's that good.

Just buy this hose. Saves water, time & energy. Easy, lightweight, non-kinking. Highly recommend!
Updated on March 2025- still working as my back yard hose. Bought one a couple of years ago. I think this is the best expandable hose I’ve ever owned. I don’t receive any money or other payment to leave a sparkling review. Another plus is that I don’t have to hold the nozzle to keep water flowing. Just turn nozzle to desired volume and I spray down the entire backyard rocks and turf to wash down the pee and poop smells. Only issue is that I am finished spraying before I want to quit! Not really an issue. Buying a 2nd bionic hose for the front now. My landscapers haven’t broken this hose yet and I had to replace the other expanding hoses every year. Stop looking for a better hose. You can thank me later! Quality is so much better than the regular expanding hoses that the Tim The Tool Man Helper was hawking. Just get this hose! It has its own adjustable or twisting watering valve on the end that I wasn’t sure if it would be a strong enough stream but WOW, I’m so happy I bought this hose! I live in Phoenix and watch my water usage because we have a water shortage. Every few days , I pick up dog poop from the backyard rocks and fake grass. I want to spray down the entire yard to get rid of the poop and pee smells for my dog and to keep flies away. It would take a good 15 minutes to wash down the entire backyard with the other expanding hoses and the sprayer that came w/each one but this spray nozzle and hose cuts the time down to 2-3 minutes. The strong sprayer allows me to spray the farthest points of my yard without having to move back and forth. It’s a water and time saver! I need two hoses but decided to see how this worked before buying the 2nd unit but I will be buying another. No worries about the expansion like the rest of the expansion hoses getting twisted or stuck on a pot, rock or decorative brick & flagstone. Easy to wind up near the spigot. Don’t need to place it in a storage area or keep out of the sun like the usual expandable hoses. The other expansion hoses were not meant for the Phoenix sun/heat or my landscapers who were using it incorrectly. not pulling the entire hose out before turning on the water. the other expansion hoses lasted about one season here but I’m working on the 2nd season w/this hose. (Update 3 years and still working perfectly.) Highly recommend this hose especially if you are concerned about water use, sun/heat damaging, needing to pull hose out w/o kinks/knots before turning on water to prevent damage to expansion hoses and if you need/desire a lightweight water hose with fantastic nozzle sprayer! I have some issues w/using my hands, arms & needed a lightweight alternative. Wasn’t sure if the metal hose would be too heavy for me to use for the 15-20 minutes the other hoses would take but it’s extremely lightweight & so quick/efficient to water down the entire backyard that I want to keep working but I’m done way before I’m tired. Has it all. No negatives w/this hose!

Great for us old folks
My 75 year old self thanks this product for making my watering routine so much easier. It is lightweight and so easy to roll up when done. I was hesitant at first but so happy with this purchase. I've had it for over a year and it still looks and functions like new. No leaks! No kinks!

Great Hoses
I have purchased these in the past and find that they are very durable and easy to use. They are also light wieght so they are easy to move around. The only issue I have had is that one of these is permanently attached to a 4 valve manifold as it seems there was an adverse reaction between the two metals and I believe they have fused together.
