MasterChef: Street Food of the World

I'm going to start with my one little complaint first.I'm an American. The author of this cook book isn't. Most of the measurements, etc. are done for a more global audience. That's awesome and when I've got time, I don't mind figuring out conversions. But I'm a tired single mom who works full time and when I'm trying to cook something after work, I just want cups and pounds and all sorts of American measurement systems in my cook books! Lol - yes, I'm whining. But if you're American and you're buying this cook book, just know you need to deal with things like grams and centimeters and caster sugar and prawns (what's wrong with saying shrimp).However, when I stopped whining and waited until I had time to do the conversions, I did love this cook book.It's full of glorious photos and recipes for street food all over the world. Since it's very international, note that there are some more unusual ingredients that you might not find in a more rural grocery store. Since I'm in the LA area, I was able to find everything I needed, though occasionally it was a bit of a drive to get it.Favorites included the pupusas, the scotch eggs, and my daughter's favorite - the beignets. Not Cafe du Monde, but delicious! A few recipes did include Fahrenheit as well as Celsius (thank God!).The recipes are all fun and, being street food, most are easy to take on the go. Fun for a tapas type party and you'll find a little something for everyone in the book - even your hard to please little eaters!So, I really like the book. It just made my brain hurt once in a while because...milliliters???

We loved that it offered new meals to help break up regular meal flavors. Add new foods to our diets. Easy to follow instructions and usually fast prep and cooking times. All around great gift.

The recipes are well explained with easy-to-find ingredients, most of which are probably already in the kitchen cupboard.

I got this for Christmas and I am OBSESSED. The recipes are to die for, as is the photography. The writing is as fun as the food. My mouth is watering just thinking about how great this cookbook is. Buy it for yourself, buy it for those you love, seriously.

If I were to do business as a food truck, this book would be priceless. Imagine street food for your party or brick and mortar eatery. Street food succeeds because it is the real deal of what we like to eat. Guarantee success at your next dinner party, buy this book and make these foods.

Great recipes (with pictures for each one) that come out wonderfully delicious! My plan is to make every single one!

OK, I did write a review about the book which was blocked by Amazon, the book itself is exactly what is advertised but unfortunately my book wasn't new, it had fingerprints on pages, it wasn't sealed. In my first review I gave 2 Stars but now I'm giving only 1 due to the fact that Amazon wouldn't allow me to write the review I wanted.

I love cooking and watch most baking shows. The street food section of MasterChef is one of my favourites to watch and I wanted to try out some of the recipes myself. They don’t disappoint - the scotch eggs in particular were outstanding!

Bought for my son who loves to travel and eat local food and then try cooking different cuisines at home. He loved this book.

A lovely selection of recipes in here. A diverse list ranging from the exotic to fish and chips; this itself is a tasty, lip-smackin' recipe accompanied by a scrumptious tartare sauce. What a nice gift to give or receive!

Absolutely love this book. usually in a cook book there is alot of receipes you wouldn't do... but this book I would do all of them bar alot of the fish dishes, only because I'm not a fish person. Fantastic book... bought one for my daughter who was impressed with mine.
