They fit, don't mar bike finish
I don't know why manufacturers use these things but these worked well for me. Two of my Motobecane bikes with clamps that are hard to take off and impossible to keep on needed a few of these and these worked. They are plastic and they work better than metal ones, which I tried.I received these on time etc.

Good clamps at a good price
These fit very well and were easy to snap in to place. Speaking of snapping, they gave a nice authoritative "snap" when they locked in. They hold very well and stay in place much better than the ones that came on my bike from the manufacturer. If you need to replace your clamps after losing some on the trial, these are good.

They don't fit
They clip in ok without the cable, but that's what there made for to hold cable in place. Just uses zip ties.
