High Crime [Cult Classics]

This is a review of the Blu ray Studio Canal Release - Region B (English and Italian) film. I have an All-Region player and did have the message this will play on Region B players only (I have to make a selection on the player control for it to work). The film comes in a regular case with a slip case and a set of 4 cards inside. There are some special features I haven't watched.I now have a 4K player and TV and supposedly that will upscale a blu-ray. The film was reasonably clear and sharp and sounded ok rather than amazing.For me the best part of the film was a car chase near the beginning which while not the most amazing chase every does have amazing camera work and cinematography that even from the first frames of the film, somebody really thought about and made amazing. I was impressed.The story is ok and moves along nicely though I'm not sure I was always keeping up with who was who. I guess the characters are dubbed in English and the lead character while supposedly speaking with passion doesn't seem to have that fully reflected (he sounds louder and excited rather than speaking with real passion). My Italian is fairly basic so I didn't play it in Italian.So in summary, a good film with a really good and worthwhile start. Yes, it's dated in places and that shows. Nonetheless it's a 'keeper' and I'm glad I bought it.Other reviewers have commented that this version has had a grand finale cut from the end which I cannot comment on but the ending was ok for me and did make sense. I might just seek out an alternative version to get those extra minutes and to see an alternative ending.

Avoid at all costs,cut by over 10 minutes at the end of the film, actually the final shootout.A shocking oversight by studio canal.

The whole ending to this film is basically cut on this Studio Canal Blu-ray version. Buy another version if possible.

This release was cut like the French release.

This is a cut version of the film. And it's not just a few missing seconds. The cuts change the entier movie.

Go for the German release instead. This release cuts 10 minutes off of the end of the film, so you don't see the ending gunfight or the conclusion!

This is the English export version, missing the final 5 minutes. A real botch job by Studio Canal.

The big finale of this film has been hacked off. It just suddenly ends without resolving anything. Makes no sense.
