McFarlane Toys - Warhammer 40000 7IN Figures WV5 - Chaos Space Marine (AP Variant)

I really enjoyed painting this figure and, just in case you weren’t aware, you can take it completely apart to make painting easy. Back pack, arms, legs, shoulder pads all pop off pretty easily. Re-assembly is a wee bit of a challenge, but I found that putting a very small dab of cooking oil on the ball joints makes it much easier. I painted it with Army Painter Fanatic and Army Painter Speed paint; GREAT paints. It is a really cool action figure with amazing detail.

I'm usually unimpressed with most things I come across. At an escalating rate over the past couple of decades continuing for the unforeseen future, the quality of practically everything has been going down the drain. Everyone seems to only care bout quantity regardless of the quality which is required sacrifice in order to achieve more of it. The second I picked this box up I knew this is the exception to the rule. This thing is not made from cheap plastic, it's got a lot of weight to it when compared to any other toys sold in stores, even ones that are 3 times bigger than this one. The joints are very snug and easily stay in place which I great for posing. The level of detail is beyond that of what toy manufacturers seem to have tossed out the window years ago. I used to have a ton of spawn toys i remember being very fond of when i was a little kid. I still remember how great they looked and the weight they had, as they were all I had to entertain myself for an entire week when some psycho dumped a pot of scolding water down my back, leaving my back covered in 2nd and 3rd-degree burns which left me unable to walk or even lay on my back the entire time. Macfarlane is not just the greatest comic book artist/creator of all time, his label is what you wanna look for on the box if you care about quality.

I love warhammer, and I love that mcfarlane acknowledged that we are a big painting community by producing these AP's. Only real downside is that: the articulation is trash and 9/10 of these guys can't properly hold their weapons, especially the guns.Still good though

I recently purchased the unpainted Warhammer 40k figure and it has been a joy to assemble and customize to my liking. The level of detail and quality of the sculpt is top-notch, and it's been fun to bring the figure to life with my own paint scheme. The price is reasonable for an unpainted figure, and I highly recommend it to other hobbyists. Overall, I give it 5 stars.
