I really like this product and in my 70's I've tried a lot of products. This one is by far the best I've use. I try to walk every day and I over did it one day. My legs and hips were screaming at me due to overwork and strain. I found his product and love it. It doesn't really get hot but just enough to calm that pain. I think I healed up quicker because of this product. I put it on and rub it into the skin really well. It doesn't leave a residue. I love this product.

I have been using Penetrex for years and prefer the roll on as it is not greasy and dries on the skin faster than the cream. I just wish they would put it back in the pump again to make it easier to dispense. The SURPRISE with Capsaicin version is the somewhat UNPREDICTABLE HEAT. The first time I used it, I found the heat to be extreme. Using less has gotten that issue under control and the heat can be very helpful. Back to the SURPRISE aspect... You can put this on and feel the heat soon after OR not feel any heat until the following day! Then it seems that out of nowhere the heat appears. Penetrex said this could happen if your pores open up due to activity or other forms of heat. I know this to be true because it has come on with great intensity when working in the yard on a sunny day. Sometimes this unexpected, delayed heat feels great when the pain is returning after a while. I have chronic back pain so it is nice to have some "bonus relief" as much as 24 hours later... However, you just have to be careful how much you apply and not expose yourself to an extraneous heat source.

I've been a Penetrex user for quite a few years and swear by it. I got this new item with Capsaicin after researching but ended up having a problem after using the first day. I rubbed into hurting areas of arthritis and muscle pain, and it worked pretty well even though I didn't feel any skin warming. I washed my hands after applying but didn't stop to think that if you touch the skin where it's been applied it is on your hands again. Found out the hard way when I rubbed my eye a couple of times and felt instant burning. I had to use cold water in my eye extensively. Couldn't figure out what was causing it and when it happened a second time, I realized what was going on. Capsaicin is made from peppers and can cause reactions and of course burning eyes. I won't be using this item again even though it helps with pain. I'll stick with my usual Penetrex. No one ever knows if they're going to rub an eye or some other sensitive area, so I decided to send this warning.

Doesn’t last long when you apply it on no smell just a warm feeling helps with back pain

First I should say that I have early onset severe osteoarthritis in my knees. A combination of an active childhood and adolescence followed by 2 decades of adulthood sitting at a desk 9-11 hours a day will get you there fast. So I’m willing to try anything for relief! Penetrex Arthritis Pain Relief Cream is gradual, but has provided amazing relief for my knees. I would suggest starting with a very light layer on the area you wish to treat and wait a half hour or so before adding more to test the strength vs your sensitivity to it. I only had to use a very small amount for it to work. It lasts about 12 hours for me. It is activated by motion, so a lap around your house or a gentle massage should do the trick. ALWAYS wash your hands afterward and again if you touch the treated area. This gives the same reaction as hot peppers or hot sauce: if you get it on your hands and touch your eyes, it’s going to burn, so stay vigilant. The price is just okay, but when you consider that you only need a pea size amount for about a 6 inch area, it is well worth the cost. Five stars, two thumbs up.

I have bought generic pain relief brands with heat from a local big box store that have better heat and effect than this New Penetrex product and cost much less for more. There is absolutely no warming or heat to this product, if they have real capsicum in it, the amount is so small it's for marketing purposes only, so they can claim it's in there. Way overpriced for the tiny tube , that does even work as a good lotion let alone some type of pain reliever as advertised. Stick with the Basic Penetrex it does help if used in accordance with instructions over time, but this new Penetrex product is just a marketing scheme to increase profits. Shame because it's going to give Penetrex a bad name like so many other products that falsely claiming to give pain relief with warming or heat.

this Penetrex with capsaicin seems more efficient than plain Penetrex, but both leave a greasy film on application site.
