Teaches kids to be comfortable of one's self
Mr. Men Little Miss: Be Yourself: A New Book for 2023 about Confidence from the Classic Illustrated Children's Series about Feelings (Mr. Men and Little Miss Discover You)I love reading this book to my 4-yr old son. He loves listening as I read about the importance of being himself. The words are suitable for toddlers to understand easily, but some need to be explained further. It has colourful pictures that attract my son's attention. And as usual, it includes the most popular characters like Mr Quiet, Mr Funny, Mr Nobody, etc. This series of little books are fun and educational, teaching kids to be confident in who they are and also not to be biased and accept the differences of others. All the adults/readers must do is animate using voices to make the reading more alive.

Picture book about the confidence that comes from being you
Mr Funny is confident because he feels loved and respected for who he is. However Mr Quiet finds that when he tries to speak up he seems to go unheard. In fact, when Little Miss Naughty comes into the library where Mr Quiet works, she never seems to notice that he’s trying to get her to be quiet. Can Mr Funny help Mr Quiet find his inner confidence to speak u for himself?Roger Hargreaves and Elizabeth Kilbey’s picture book (part of the DISCOVER MORE ABOUT YOU SERIES) is a thoughtful guide for young readers about how to be confident in who you are. I enjoyed the way Mr Funny is so supportive of Mr Quiet and also how the book celebrates all of the strange things Mr Funny does but how it makes him unique. These are really useful books for young readers and well worth a look.Mr Funny and Mr Quiet aren’t two characters who I’d automatically put together but they work very well in this story. Mr Funny is an unusual character who does silly things but you really get a sense of what makes him unique and how his confidence comes from knowing who he is and that other people like him for that. The big theme in this book is learning who you are and how to appreciate yourself for that. I enjoyed the way that Mr Funny helps Mr Quiet to learn how he enjoys telling stories and how that gives him the confidence to deal with Little Miss Naughty (who is oh so very naughty). At the same time, I also enjoyed how the book makes clear that there’s nothing wrong with being quiet or shy - it’s all about working out who you are. At the same time this has the quirky humour that makes the MR MEN LITTLE MISS BOOKS such classics. All in all, if you want to help a younger reader to develop their self confidence to be who they are, then this is well worth a look.

Another great addition to the series
These new books from the Discover You range are a great addition and are aimed at teaching children about emotions and behaviours. This book titled Be Yourself is all about confidence and tells the story of Mr Quiet trying to find his. My daughter has really enjoyed the first couple of books we're got from this range especially as they're new stories having read the originals from her boxsets over and over. The book is of the usual format in that it's small and thin but well illustrated with plenty of text to tell the story. These books are slightly over priced for what they are (£4.99 at the time of review) but they do get plenty of use - I'd like to see a full boxset like the originals as they usually work out cheaper as well as having loads of stories to choose from but so far I've only seen bundles of 4 of the books which don't work out any cheaper, otherwise I really recommend these new books

Brilliant modern story to encourage confidence
As a child I had many mr men books, I loved all the characters. This book is fantastic, very fitting for this day and age.The story brings awareness of believing in yourself and being comfortable to be yourself. Not trying to put on an act to be the brightest loudest person in the room but being your true self and happy and confident with who you are.A lovely modern day story, I read to my grandaughter who is a little young to understand the story, probably more suited for school age children to understand, but it is a lovely story to read and encourage children to be happy with who they are
