VIE-LONG AMERICAN STYLE WHITE HORSE HAIR SHAVING BRUSH

No odor, unlike many reviewers, and so far not one loose hair. Just about as stiff as my boar brush and very nice to use with my shaving mug which is deep enough to put lather on my fingers with my regular handled brushes. Very glad I decided to try horsehair, and very happy with this brush.

I wanted to love this brush so bad! That being said there are positives so I will list them here. The positives are the humane hair collection used for these brushes which was my main factor for purchasing. Second is the wood handle. Design is classy and sturdy, love the natural wood loved the bristles initially. Tad scratchier than boar hair bristles which ive used in the past with a smaller loft than most brushes have, but they list the dimensions so get a ruler and check if that would be too small for you. The extra roughness I dont mind since itll be good for exfoliating. For me it worked fine. There is a logo which mars the beauty of the brush but it is shown in the pic so I am not taking stars off for that. The brush did not have a strong smell to me at all and I sniffed it real good LOL because other reviews for horse hair brushes mention a strong animal odor. Did not bother me a bit. Hair loss is also minimal. I am deducting two stars because the last week ive used the brush i see a like spot with less hair that leaves like a hole visible from the top of the brush looking at the bristles. Its like a lil bald spot. It doesnt effect the use of the brush but seems like maybe it missed quality control or something. Too bad tho because I loved it initially. So overall a good viy just disapointed I paid extra and it has that bald spot. So I eouldnt order again but il still definetly use it as it is an aesthetic issue and not a function issue. I feel that if you are dedicated to veganism or humane animal practices that may nit be a huge factor anyway.

I considered buying one of these brushes for a long time. I'm glad I took the plunge, as it has become my favorite brush. The only qualm is that it takes a couple of weeks for the smell to work its way out of the brush. At first it had a grassy/horsey smell. It wasn't terrible, but I'm glad it wore away.

It’s stinks for a week or so but then it’s great. Good lather. Light weight. Long handle that’s very comfortable
