” This from a government that has sacrilegious subsidized “art works” like “Piss Christ
Diana West’s appropriately entitled book, No Fear, is an extensive account of United States policy toward the Middle East. She demonstrates that President Obama’s policy is essentially a continuation of the Bush policy. This policy is heavily influenced by political correctness, or a fear of accurately describing the enemy we are confronting. She quotes Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s comment at his Harvard address: “Must one point out that from ancient times a decline in courage has been considered the first symptom of the end?” What are people afraid of? In the United States this might include social ostracism, loss of employment or assignment to a re-education camp, sometimes called sensitivity training. In Europe it could include a jail sentence. In the Middle East it could involve beheading. She quotes Secretary of State Clinton: “The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of other.” This from a government that has sacrilegious subsidized “art works” like “Piss Christ,” “Tongues of Flame,” “The Holy Virgin Mary,” “Tie Rack,” etc., etc., etc. As columnist John Leo stated: “In paintings and sculpture, the bashing of Christian symbols is so mainstream that it’s barely noticed.” The defenders of these examples of “artistic expression” are the same people who are outraged by the slightest criticism of islam. More disturbing is the fact that numerous terrorists have been released from prison while U.S. servicemen are serving terms in federal prisons for apparent violations of the Rules of Engagement. These rules are so ludicrous that it prompted her to write, “They call this strategy COIN and wear uniforms, but really it’s psychosis and these strategist should be wearing hospital robes.” This book illustrates how the elite has created much of the problems in the Middle East. Their nation building efforts have resulted in a surfeit of arms in the Middle East and the overthrow of admittedly corrupt regimes replaced by even more dangerous regimes. We must question the depth of the elite’s commitment to the U.S. by their actions. Our survival is at stake. As Diana West writes, “When a civilization no longer inculcates an overriding attachment to its own survival it no longer survives as a civilization.”

America's best columnist
"No Fear", Diana West's collection of selected columns from 1999-2013, proves why she is America's best (and most politically incorrect) political writer. Several columns address Benghazi and the cover-up that follows. Most of her columns deal with Islam: she has sections on 9/11, jihad, terrorism, Afghanistan, Iraq, and the denial that most people/governments are in about Islam that are simply excellent. She also covers culture, such as columns on "Who Blacklisted Whom?" ("McCarthyism", and Elia Kazan, etc.) that are outstanding. I especially liked her "Forbidden Columns" that were not published by various outlets for various reasons (most deal with Obama's birth certificate, gasp!). When the title says "No Fear" that's what it means. Many "conservative" (or Conservatism, Inc.) writers will not write about subjects that are too controversial. Ms. West has no such fear and boldly takes on the politically incorrect issues of our day. Anyone familiar with her brilliant "American Betrayal" (a must read) will be pleased by this collection of her columns. Highly recommended!

News that the Networks do not Cover
I haven't finished reading this book but what I've read is great writing. Now I have a history book, from 1999-2013 of the things the News Media did not inform me of. UPDATE: I finished the book, didn't enjoy reading as much as "American Betrayal," but still an informative book since I don't watch news on TV any longer.

It was an excellent informative book
I recently read Ms. Wests most recent work, "American Betrayal" and was astounded. It was an excellent informative book! Once I started reading American Betrayal, I could not put it down. I have since loaned it to two friends and they too immensely enjoyed it. So, I ordered No Fear and have read some of the first articles and again, have enjoyed Ms. West's insights. She is a remarkably gifted and intelligent woman.

Important Insights for a Nation in Trouble
To see the extent to which the country has made itself vulnerable while wasting billions on nation-building, one has to read this book. West does not share the utopian delusions that prevail in today's America. She senses the catastrophe ahead. She is appalled by the egregious political culture of both Right and Left. She fears for a society that will not defend itself from an alien religion that promises to impose a universal Caliphate, and elects a man whose birth certificate is as fishy as his qualifications are questionable.

Always a great read!
Diana West's columns are always like a slap across the face. Her insights shake you out of your apathy and complacency. She drills right through the obfuscation put out by the media, even Fox. It is interesting to read the older columns; they're often a sad slice of history. A must read for anyone who loves the truth.
