Good patterns, a lot of little creatures
I have purchased dragon patterns from this creator before online (her elemental dragons - I've made about 15 of them by now, and they have all been wonderful creatures - I included one picture of one of them, this pattern is not directly in the book, but is very similar, I'll try to update when I have a picture of one from this book). Her patterns are clear and thorough. They are for intermediate if not advanced amigurumi crocheters. But they are beautiful and worth it! This book has a lot of smaller creatures (intermediate level I think, but they would help in getting you ready for the big ones) and a handful of big patterns. They won't disappoint though! In looking through her dragon pattern pictured on the front, she has a lot of variability. She has 7 options for different tail ornaments, 2 options for wings, 2 bellies, 6 back scales, 4 ears, etc. Her other patterns don't have as many options, but there are some (different tail for phoenix, mane for unicorn, adding phoenix wings to make unicorn a pegasus, etc). Every part of her book has detailed instructions and a lot of pictures. There is some crossover - it looks like the little creatures all have the same body type with different added pieces. If you like this creator, or if you are looking for a good pattern for a dragon, kraken, unicorn/pegasus, or phoenix, or for a lot of smaller fun creatures (I do love crocheting baby mobiles, this would be fun for that), this is the book for you! Happy crocheting!

Love the possibility!
This is a nice book and it has some grate possibilities. I will say that sadly it is not for the very beginner. The book is broken up in different parts of the creatures like legs, head, body and so on. It's more of a mix and match approach to a lay out. So far this little dragon is the only one I've done. I recommend reading patterns very carefully especially if you're not used to reading patterns. I did have some trouble on making the wings but that was really the only trouble i had, everything else was pretty standard. I've only been doing crochet for a couple months so there is hope for anyone who wants to pick up a few new tricks. I highly recommend anyone who is still very new to crochet to not skip the beginning portion of the book the author goes over descriptions of stitches and additional information that is helpful. The patterns are pretty easy to read as long as you have a midish knowledge of crochet. Over all I'm looking forward to make many other things from the book.

A Lot to Love, but Not Beginner Friendly.
This book is laid out unlike any crochet book I've had. Rather than going project to project, it's separated in to small projects, with lots of overlap in pieces, and several bigger projects, with less overlap. The smaller projects then, are just a table with "parts" that you create, then assemble, from a different portion of the book. Most of these use the same parts, but have a few features that make them stand out. Depending on what you're looking for this could be a negative as these designs arn't all truly unique, but I think it aids in ease of construction. This also has a lot of flip flopping around the book to find what you're looking for. Now, the negative. This book is not beginner friendly, it assumes you have, not just basic knowledge, but some advance knowledge as well. The patterns indicate to increase, or decrease, when an invisible increase would be much more suitable. My greatest frustration comes from the fact that there is no instruction on how to properly sew on the parts. Most of the construction steps are to simply "pin and sew on". As someone who came form doilies and hats, I had to do much further research to find the best methods to attach. Luckily there is a glossary of stiches.Overall this book has great pictures, beautiful creatures, and a lot of customizing options. If you are looking for a good book to get started though, this is *not* a good choice. A lot of modern books are adding QR codes that link to pages with more detailed instructions, I think this book could benefit from something like that.

Great book - so many possibilities
I love the way this book encourages creativity. For example, instead of having one dragon pattern to follow, it shows different possibilities with different accessories and then you can choose to make your own combinations. Brilliant!

Beau livre
2 eme livre que j achète de Megan Lapp. On aurait tendance à croire qu il n y a que des modèles de dragons, mais ce n est pas le cas. Il y a d autres créatures sympas.
