Works as it should
It works great but came with no instructions and what I believe to be missing something because I had to use self tap screws to attach 1 side but for the price well worth it.

No good!!
Worked fine until the lower ball mount on the mounting plate popped out. It does not stay in, looks like it was never welded to the plate. Only lasted about ten times opening the tailgate. Cannot be fixed!👎🏼

No instructions in box, video isn't real clear as to position for bottom clamp.
I wish it came with instructions, tool provided doesn't fit exactly and becomes a knuckle breaker if you're not careful. All of that said, the item is of good quality and works great! would purchase again.

was cheap and gets the job done
the instructions were not the best, but once you figure it out, this was definitely worth it, it was cheap in price but not in quality. Just annoyed about the instructions but got it installed in a breeze once I figured it out, and glad I went with the cheaper one as it works great!

Wanted to wait and now it’s out. 1 year review!
Well I have had for about a year and still every time a new person sees it work they say something. Most people think my truck is just a high end model and it came with it. When I tell them you can get on amazon for cheap they say I need one yesterday. I do a lot of reviews but if it’s junk I send the thing back with a one star. If it works like it says and ok for the price I give it dues. This thing is great for the price and a quality product that fit perfectly and performance is great.

Poor quality
First observation - there were no instructions in the package, you need to go back to the product listing to look at the pictures and figure it out so installation is a bit tricky if you are not mechanically inclined. The spring clips that holds the piston in the posts are hard to use but once installed it works.Three months later - all the oil leaked out of the piston and the screw the provided is all rusted up - so, poor quality item.I'll replace the piston and treat the screw but I wouldn't buy this POS again.
