Works wonderful as a diesel absorbent!!! In 8 years this is the best one I’ve found. If the spill isn’t large you can reuse it as well.

Works well and quickly at soaking up all kinds of spills, even wet muddy fur puddles on rainy days.

I have a slightly leaky joint on the oil supply line in my utility room. Pending warmer weather when I can turn off the heating and Aga and get it fixed, I'm just sopping it up pro tem in a little tinfoil collecting boat filled with fire sand, which I have to hand outside anyway. Fire sand is much easier to scoop into my little boat as it just trickles in like water and stays where it lands. The Spillfix is fluffy and like compost and is harder to get into place and needs tamping down. The Spillfix is much more absorbent and takes at least twice as long to saturate then the fire sand. For some reason the fire sand seems to control the oily smell than the Spillfix so I change the latter more often when parts of it are not touched by the oil. I think it would be more effective if I had a leak from my outside oil tank than the fire sand but it's not fire retardant, so the fire sand will stay in my fire buckets. I have loads left so will put into a airtight container as part of a spillkit outside by the oil tank.

Seemed to mop oil up ok

Product is nothing more than non absorbent compostable type material that simply floats as oppose absorb. Had a drain leak under my floor and left the product adjacent to the overflow expecting it to absorb the spillage. It didn't and the water ran over it so useless too be honest.
