Interesting but Not Memorable
Edible but tastes worse than US military MREs. Everything is freeze-dried. Crackers are unsalted and *very* hard. You get a lot of crackers. Apple jam is ok. Drink mixes are good. Main entree in mine was instant oatmeal with dates, instant mashed potatoes with french onions, and instant meat with vegetables. Main entree taste was ok but not great. Would not buy this again, would not take this camping or hunting, would not use as emergency rations.4 stars because it's exactly what it says it is and it's rare and weird. If I was judging this based on taste it would be 2 stars.Advice:Be careful cutting the package open, it's easy to accidentally cut through the food packets.Use a cup of boiling water to rehydrate the food packets. If your water is boiling it will probably taste ok. If your water isn't boiling it will likely taste awful.Verdict:If you want to taste strange Russian food this really isn't very strange tasting. More of a conversation piece than anything. I was going to do a picture-by-picture review of everything in this MRE, but stopped when I realized it was just freeze-dried food like what you'd find in any freeze-dried "survival" kit.
