The stick S1 plus hot end has a PTFE liner in it and degrades quickly when printing PETG. Yes it needs to be assembled and you really should get some Boron Nitride thermal compound as well. The bi-metal heartbreak fits perfectly in the S1 housing and isolates the hot end so well that the heat sink is barely warm to the touch after an 8 hour print at 245c. The thermistor is accurate and the hot end heats very quickly. Printing so far has been flawless with no clogs whatsoever. I’ve printed Pla, pla+, petg, and abs with this kit and no issues with any of those filaments.One thing Is after assembly and install you need to heat it up to max temp and re-tighten everything. If you don’t you may develop slop leading to issues.

This was a great upgrade to my Ender 3 S1 printer. Heats up fast and produces great quality prints. Very happy I found this.Our printer is for a business so its used 24/7. I'll update this review if anything changes.

For those looking to get a higher temp hot end and heat break - do note that while this unit works great (at least based on my experience and installation, it is definitely not an OEM unit. Tell-tale signs: it does not come in the crealty packaging, it is not pre-assembled, it uses a different thermistor, heater cartridge (OEM is concave tip while this one is convex) and different size screw that holds the thermistor in.Now to be clear - if you install it right, it will work just fine (as mine does) - but for $30.... you can get the OEM Pro of AliExpress for $15-17 with 10 day delivery :\

I had messed up my previous thermostat and it was half the price of this. So I decided to just get this and everything came nicely. Assembly was easy enough. Will definitely buy again if needed.

First off. Yes I heated it up then tightened everything.Now it worked good for a couple of months. Then I noticed some melted filament under the sock. Thought the nozzle came loose for some odd reason. Took the head off. Noticed it was coming out the top of the heat block. Did a complete teardown didn't need a new nozzle but did one anyways.Now I'm three months after that and noticed the same thing happening. Just going to stick with creality from now on.

Parts fit well and it is working ... good replacement for original Sprite Extruder parts.

Very good product. reacxhes stable temperatures as desired. effortless printing of ABS on an open format printer after installing this.
