Holds phone in a stabilized position.
This was my third attempt to find a good phone car mount. I tried one that clipped on the dash vent vanes but it wasn't sturdy. I tried one with a suction cup but it was very awkward to mount in my Avalon. This one also clips to the vent vanes but it has legs on the bottom to hold and stabilize the phone. This is important when I need to press a button on the phone. I love it.

Good; not perfect
Has a great grip on the phone, but the clip that holds onto the vent tends to loosen. Minor problem, still a good purchase.

This did not work since the fan inserts do not rotate to fit my vertical slots. It would not stay up.

Doesn't work in a jeep because vents are round. 😲giving it to my daughter. Very sturdy though would have been nice if it fit in my Jeep Wrangler.
