Works with Cisco 7942
I bought the adapter so I could use a headset with my Cisco desk phone as I share an office space with three other people which can cause feedback on conference calls and make audio hard to hear due to the ambient noise. I am using a Turtle Beach Recon 50X headset and have had no issues with incoming audio nor outgoing mic audio. Definitely a big improvement over using speakerphone or holding the handset to my ear for up to an hour for conference calls. I'm not sure if the adapter will work with more elaborate headsets but a wired headset with noise cancelling may be my next purchase to further improve upon call quality.

Didn't work on Cisco 7942
When using this the volume on my headset was so low it was almost inaudible. This was with the headset volume turned all the way up. I plugged it into the headset port and plugged my cell phone headset into it, then pressed the headset button on the phone (Cisco 7942), just as directed. The headset works fine with my cell phone so that's not the issue. I returned the cable.

Didn’t work for Cisco phone
Didn’t work. I could hear out of it but people on the other line could not hear me.

Does what it says, and well.
I don't normally write reviews, but this certainly does not deserve a one star review. My office only provides bluetooth headsets that don't fit my ears very well, so I picked this up to be able to use an inexpensive 3.5 mm gaming headset in long conference calls. I can move the headset's 3.5 mm plug back and forth between my computer (to listen to Webex classes) and this adapter, which stays plugged into the headset jack on the bottom of my Cisco 7975 office phone.I've been using it regularly (almost every business day) for over a year and a half, and am now picking up a couple more for co-workers who also dislike the "nicer" more expensive bluetooth headsets. As with almost anything that is for a full headset (my cellphone, my PS4 controller, my Computer, etc.) you have to make sure you insert the 3.5 mm plug all of the way into the socket. It will go in most of the way, and then you have to push a bit further for a click to finish plugging in the headset.
