Excellent game, highly recommend
This is an excellent game, one of my favorites. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys Euro games. This is not a family level game or a gateway game, but if you enjoy games like Brass then this game is for you.

Great Mid to Heavy Weight Strategy Game
If you are into mid to heavy weight strategy eurogames, this game is for you. This is easily one of my favorite games of 2023 and for me of all-time. It did take a playthrough to full understand the game but I did I couldn't stop playing. I played over and over. This game is great multiplayer but also has great solo rules so you can play anytime.

Pretty Heavy board game with a lot of Iconography but once learned rather compelling
So many icons makes the first play of this take a while but the iconography is great…it’s just a bunch of overhead to learn up front. Once that’s accomplished and you learn/teach the game the game is really really compelling and fun. It’s very tight where every turn is incredibly important. If you like games of predicting what other players will do and benefiting from that smart prediction this is definitely a game for you. That said one of my punch boards were unglued and I’ve heard similar problems/defects have haunted this release.

Great game, terrible delivery experience
The game itself is fantastic and really fun to play! However, I’d advise paying attention to the shipping and packaging. Mine was shipped by USPS and unfortunately, my box arrived with some damage. While it doesn’t affect the gameplay or the contents inside, it’s disappointing for collectors like me who value the condition of the box. The game deserves five stars, but the packaging experience knocks it down a bit.

Unexpectedly Good!
Carnegie is comprehensive mid to heavyweight crunchy-euro (7.5 out of 10 per difficulty) with plenty of snowball-effect triggers that feel worthy of percise planning of company workers. It will take a few plays to fully understand all of the in-game crunchiness.Carnegie's aesthetics is average with overall color scheme complimenting the physical wooden player pieces, print of company department tiles, and game boards. Objectives are easy to find via player boards and main play board. The interlocking slide out project tabs on player boards are a nice touch. Company departments are printed on thick cardboard and solo cards have a coated finish. My best advice is take the first couple of games slowly and expect minor errors to be made until the learning curve is complete. Making copies of the back page of instruction booklet will help new/other players with icon fluency.Protip: Take advantage of long-term donations mid-game and never let your opponent take over your established section of the country mid-game. Use the timeline row as a prediction-grid to set up long term gain with workers. When compared to Troyes (by the same game creator), the learning curve is almost exactly the same.Note: This non-deluxe variant of Carengie lacks inside storage space for components. Sleeving any part of this game will create issues with fitting all pieces within the box.

Excellent Eurogame With Hard To Keep Straight Solo Mode
This is an excellent euro game from a designer who has generated some incredible ideas over the past several years. This is no exception. When playing with other people, turns proceed smoothly and orderly, but when playing the solitaire rules, it's difficult to keep track of the automated opponent. That shouldn't deter anyone from picking up yet another gem from Xavier Georges, the designer of other great titles in this genre of game.

Beautiful pieces
I just purchased this game for my husband. The pieces are beautiful and he absolutely loves the game play.
